Walked in at 8:55 pm on a Saturday night. The guy behind the bar hits a vape and tells me they already did last call. Second time we've been here that they've closed early. I live in the neighborhood and it seems like a cool place.

A fun bar with Mexican style food. Mostly small bites and cocktails including a few mocktails. Most of the seating is outside

Vegetarian options: Most of the side dishes are vegetarian

Parking: It can be difficult to find a place to park along the street during busy hours

I live three blocks away from here and managed to not try La Palma until now. Big mistake! I got the nachos with Birria Beef and it was f'ing delicious. (I am a nacho snob so....)
Service was fast and friendly and this on a Friday evening in nice weather.

I will be back a lot and will try the tacos next which my wife says are really good as well. She wouldn't share......we will discuss spousal etiquette later once emotions have calmed.

Go here and enjoy a great place!

Cute little neighborhood spot. Super friendly and helpful staff. Lots of great (and dog friendly) outdoor seating - they even brought out a water bowl for our pup. Great drink menu. Tacos with corn tortillas and are the larger 6” size. They seemed to have a decent happy hour as well. We got there after 6pm so didn’t get to take advantage, but they definitely have HH options.

We love this place!!!

They seemed to have worked out the kinks with serving and food order mistakes, which is awesome! We’ve loved everything we’ve tried here and their margaritas are so good! I know some don’t appreciate the fact that they don’t allow kids, but everyone I know (including myself- a mom), appreciate having a place that’s not overrun with kids and we don’t have to compete with iPads and screams. There are plenty of options for families around here. Thanks for giving us a grownup dinner spot!

I was so looking forward to trying this place but we were refused service for having a child with us and asked to leave. There is a sign with no host upon entry that clearly states to seat yourself and no sign stating that this is a child free restaurant. It’s advertised as a restaurant, not just a bar, and I’ve never heard of such an establishment refusing service to families with children. Best of luck to this restaurant which is in one of the most suburban neighborhoods in Portland.

Kid-friendliness: Does not allow children.

Really good margaritas. I would go back just for that. Got a quesadilla. Was a little burnt on the outside. Could taste the burn.

Parking: Pay lot across the street.

Neat spot that replaced Journeys that appears to have an excellent bar that does not allow minors. I think this is a bit of a miss as many folks in the village have young families, though it sounds like a survey of the previous customers of Journeys outweighed broader market outreach. Regardless, we gave this a try as the service was exceptionally friendly and thoughtful so we put together a to-go order. The portions were generously sized for the tacos if a little tasteless and the protein a little tough - we had the chicken, carnitas, and pescado. We added guac to the chips/salsa for $2 and started laughing when we got home and saw how tiny the container was. Between the taste of the tacos, the unfortunate pricing/value of the guacamole, and the missed opportunity to be more welcoming to families, we won't be coming back to this spot until it's a bit more established. With other PDX restaurants with excellent SW fare and drinks, La Palma has some work to do in order to be considered a potential staple of Multnomah Village.

Delicious mocktails!!!! Sometimes I want to feel fancy without the alcohol. Love places that have various options along with alcoholic ones. I feel like I am splurging without being limited to tap water.

Great place, was worried it wouldn't have the same vibe as Journeys which used to be here. But the staff are incredibly friendly, cocktails and food are amazing. This place will be jumping in the summer due to the best outdoor area in Multnomah Village!
