That day I arrived I didn't have sweet bread, only pure coffee but the pot coffee, vanilla bean was very good, I realized that they use roasted coffee, it's one of my favorite coffee brands ?, I'm just leaving a little sad for not being able to try some sandwich .

The True Mexican is my favorite Pdx coffee and La Perlita is my favorite coffee shop. I’m lucky to have this as my neighborhood spot. The crew is the best and the vibe is always on point.

This cafe absolutely rules! Every time I visit this place I’m blown away by the great pastries and creatively delicious drinks. I bring my family whenever they visit and it’s always a hit with them to try something new and exciting outside of the box of regular Mexican drinks and pastries we grew up with.

Read about my real-life experience review. Many reviews for small businesses come from employees and families and friends of the businesses. I made a special trip with my friends to try this spot out. The pictures look great, and they had several great reviews. But that was not our group's experience. I really wanted to fall in love with this cafe. But there was nothing particularly remarkable about it. Yes, they have incredible looking fresh,Mexican pastries. BUT the food we ordered was disappointing!! The size and the flavor were not what the menu described. The burrito was small! Less than 1 egg and no actual flavor of chorizo and the chorizo empanada was ALL potatoes with a chorizo spice...no meat. COME ON! That's just rude. Despite the rude customer service I wanted to try the FAMOUS MEXICAN MOCHA and NOPE!!! It wasn't Mexican! It was a Raspberry mocha. No spice, no cinnamon, no nutty flavor. There were no sugar free options and the worst part was THEY ONLY HAVE 1 MOCHA TO ORDER. NOPE, NOT MEXICAN, NOT FRIENDLY, CONFUSING MENU, NO WAY!!! NOT HAPPENING AGAIN.

The Mexican mocha is like magic, it is flavorful and rich without being super sweet. I complimented the barista on this last time and I believe he was the owner and he told me about how he sources his chocolate to make the drinks. Everything is thoughtful, you can taste it and feel it.

I love La Perlita and it’s my favorite coffee experience. Hands down. Everyone I introduce to La Perlita loves the vibe and experience. I always get a hot True Mexican with oat milk or Cafe de Olla with oat milk. My dad loves it and says it’s the best he’s ever had. My husband loves the oat cortadito and we always love the seasonal specials. The staff is chill, and we always have a laugh whenever my family comes in. Music is on point and they always got the throwbacks. Their vendor collabs are always a vibe. Axel and the staff provide an authentic experience and are our friends now. My family and I always enjoy catching up together over at La Perlita. 100/10 would recommend. I’m vegan and cheat for their regular pan dulce. They’re that good. lol Shhh

I have visited this coffee shop during my 3 years here in Portland, and the coffee is always a great experience, in my opinion they have the best sweet bread in all of PDX. I have talked to Axel a couple of times and he is a great person as is his entire team.
