Aa you might know, I'm from El Paso, TX, the #1 Mexican food capital of the United States. I know menudo is prepared different in different states. That's fine, but of course, I can't be impartial because the way it's prepared here is not the way we're used to. We have a steaming hot red chile broth with bite size menudo meat with hominy served with buttered pan blanco (or bolillos) as some people call them. Some like limes, orégano and onions. I tried...
This place is wild: dense, cluttered, chaotic. A bit of a warren. Not nearly as "nice" (meaning well-stocked, clean and varied) as the Oregon Flea Market on 183rd and Stark, just 10 blocks away to the west...but they DO have a bar with a dance floor and karaoke, so...your mileage may vary. Dig deep enough into the cracks and crevices though, and you might come away with something worth your time.
Always fun to go look around. Never know when I'll find something unique to buy. My son loves to stop there for his cup of cucumber & mango with salt & lime! My husband likes to buy fresh made lemonade!
