I had the Taste of New Orleans with the red beans n rice, collard greens, jambalaya and crawfish etouffe. Everything was excellent and tasted wonderful. Little taste of New Orleans in the Pacific Northwest. Was here out of town and so grateful ai found this place and food 🤤😋

Ordered the Jambalaya. Not what I was expecting. The chicken and sausage were fried kinda hard, then added to the rice vs. being simmered together for a soft and savory blend. The spices were on point, though.

I absolutely found the perfect mix of traditional southern Cajun and grandma's homecooking. The best spot in Portland on quantity, quality, and price! I'm from New Orleans and glad to taste home!!!

The food tasted old, especially the crawfish and we didn't get part of our order.

Better be willing to wait. Just know its worth the time. Came in hungry ASF. Waited a hot minute for food. ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. Be kind to these folks. They work hard and maintain kindness even through the stress of a lot of customers and minimal staff.

Staff had amazing hospitality! The food was rich and incredibly delicious! Every plate is made I from scratch and gives you that home-y feeling once you take the first bite. I cannot recommend this place enough, I had the jambalaya and it was the BEST I have ever had. 10/10 spot that is conveniently on the corner of MLK and Knott. Will come back when I visit Portland :)

So good. This is the place you go to, not order takeout. It’s hot, made from scratch, and leaves you happy. The fried chicken tastes like my grandma’s, you’ll leave full and happy.

Food was absolutely wonderful. Hot, fresh, perfectly seasoned. Service was super friendly, and very helpful. Fried chicken wonderfully fried, and the jambalaya was perfect. Will definitely be a frequent stop now.

Beautiful southern cooking. Booming with flavor. Definitely not your ordinary rice and beans or collard greens. Jambalaya and gumbo so good you'll wish you'd never get full!

I am a travel nurse from the south that recently has been working in the area. I saw the name and immediately thought I would be tasting something similar to home in Louisiana..nope..I had a delivery from this restaurant and was immediately disappointed. I ordered the Catfish platter which is a little misleading. I opened the box to find 1 catfish filet and two sides for $22. The catfish filet was not as big as the batter. It was not tasty and I tasted more seasoning and grease than actual seasoned fish. I normally dont leave reviews like this but to be honest this is not Cajun food it’s a knockoff and to be charging $22 for 1 filet of catfish is not good service. It was misleading because most places on the Ubereats app will put portion size like 2-3 filets etc theirs was blank. The green beans were drowned in minced garlic but it was a decent portion and good to eat. The dirty rice was very good and decently portioned. I also ordered 3 desserts, the cheesecake was a good size portion and so were the beignets. The banana pudding was disappointing. It was like a thick vanilla pudding on top of hard vanilla wafers that should be softened and left to sit in the bottom of the pudding, a couple of banana slices thrown in. Banana pudding should be evenly distributed and left to sit in a fridge to be really good. Im sorry for having to be honest but it was disappointing and for the price it was not worth it to me to pay $42 total for 1 filet catfish 2 sides and 3 dessert sides. I really wanted some good catfish I highly suggest at least making a catfish platter, 2 filets, thats at least fair to the customer . Just sharing some feedback from a girl raised in Louisiana. Hope they take what i say into consideration wasnt trying to be rude just honest. I wont be eating here again.
