LELA'S is such a cool spot. I really love the house that it's in and the vibe inside, the service was outstanding as well, and the food was pretty solid. The only reason I went with the 4 stars is that in the pho meat portion was pretty small and the noodles were cut really short, and just didn't have the right bounciness to them. This may totally be a personal preference thing or intentional variation, but it just wasn't my favorite I realized. The broth was great though!

Hunting for Banh mi sandwiches brought us to this bright sunny cafe. We enjoyed lemon grass chicken and pork belly versions- fresh baguettes, crunchy veggies, house-made alcohol-free beverages. Outdoor seating on a sunny day makes it easy to enjoy bustling NW 23rd ave.

Re pho, noodles broke easily. Most common reason is overcooking. Did like the meatballs, wish there were more of it. The flank meat was also good and sliced well. Re vermicelli bowl, disproportionately more veggies than noodles or meat. The pork can also be seasoned better. Good service, cute restaurant fashioned from a residential home.

Tasty food. Friendly folks.
Menu is fairly limited, but they do it well.
I think there may be a bar in the basement, but I not sure it's related to the restaurant.

Great food, nice atmosphere in an old house; a bit sparse and the chairs could be more comfortable.
Order at the front with delivery to your table. Bus your own dishes and get your own water.
The simple straightforward menu with reasonable prices and generous servings is wonderful. Most important, the food is tasty and fresh.
We enjoyed the flavorful chicken curry, savory pho, and a salad. The salad was good but expensive for its size and a little weird with my choice of lemongrass chicken on top. A side salad would have been a better pick.

I must say that the worker who helped me had a bright smile! The interior is pleasant and calm. The pho was decent; however, considering the price, it lacked ingredients. The quality and amount of steak provided were poor in relation to the cost. I might suggest another place for pho that offers better quality at a lower price.

What an absolute gem! The food was so good that I called while eating my take-out to share with them just how much I was enjoying it. I am now writing this review the next day while inside the restaurant to enjoy it all over again. Just amazing!!

I got the bahn mi combo: pork belly +egg, beef pho. It was delicious! There was a bit of a wait for the food, nothing crazy considering how busy they were and that it was close to closing, but they were nice enough to throw in a free egg roll for the wait. The outside seating was cozy and well lit.
