Really great Thai noodle, very sweet lady, support her! It’s cash or check so be prepared :)
I have rarely ever eaten at a place more comfortable, kind, and wholesome than lemongrass thai. I can tell that a real love and enthusiasm is responsible for such a unique and special spot. The food(both spicy and not) and service is phenomenal, and has become a treasured spot for my partner and I.

You make very good Thai food
The best Thai food in Portland
Overwhelmingly delicious. We got the Kow Soy Gai and the Garlic Basil Vegetables, both with chicken, and both were amazing. I can't stop thinking about the Kow Soy Gai broth or the breading and sauce on the garlic basil chicken. The woman running the place is an absolute treasure, and I would say that even if she hadn't brought me a second cup of crayons to draw with lol. Check out the gorgeous stained glass, she makes that too!
Please forgive the mid-eating poorly arranged photo, but you're lucky I was able to get a picture at all.
Make sure you call ahead to get a table, and know what you want to order before you get there.

This is the best Thai food I've ever had. The portions are generous and the flavors are amazing! I am obsessed with the veggie noodle tofu dish. It has a variety of fresh veggies and the tofu is lightly fried to perfection. You can get dried chili flakes on the side if you're sharing and not everyone wants it spicy.
It's located in an area with decent street parking near multiple bars if you want a drink afterward. It's a perfect date spot because of the cozy atmosphere inside and the lovely lady who owns and runs it- she will have you leaving with happy full bellies and a big smile. I really appreciate her food, friendliness and being a quaint staple in my neighborhood. Old Portland vibe for sure. Check it out- you won't be disappointed! :)

I have been going to Lemongrass for over 25 years. Shelley is phenomenal and so is her food. My favorites are pad Thai prawns, green curry chicken, peanut butter chicken, etc. I have never been disappointed. Unfortunately I moved to Texas and am always disappointed with the Thai food down here. When I come home to Portland, my first stop is ALWAYS Lemongrass. I buy enough to take back to Texas with me!
We had an excellent lunch at Lemongrass and the portions were very generous!
Very tasty yellow curry. Excellent service!

My sister visited and wanted to go to Lemongrass her favorite Portland restaurant. This uniquely special experience and incredible food is tied together by Shelley the owner and chef. Her nuanced and thoughtful touches to each dish make them a standout and set them apart. It's amazing that she delivers such thoughtful preparations with her delightful personality. This place and Shelley are truly a gem!
Delicious Thai food
Very friendly
My husband and I tried lemon grass for the first time last night. The food was authentic and delicious, albeit a bit spicy.🌶️ This quaint little restaurant is ran inside of a home and 100% of the service, cooking, and serving is done by this adorable little Thai woman. She is hilarious and fun to talk to and really makes the experience what it is. She no longer has the help of her husband as what I’ve heard is he passed away… So if you Plan to go to the restaurant it’s always nice to give her a phone call ahead of time and let her know what food you would like to have and what time you will be there and she will have the food prepared when you arrive. Otherwise, you may be waiting for a while for your food and it makes her a bit nervous. I promise you it’s worth the wait if that’s what you have to do, but if you could ease her anxiety a bit and give her a call and let her know that you’re coming that is very helpful. She only accepts cash and check, but she does have an ATM on premises.
We always love coming here, the food is great, portions enough for leftovers, the vibe is so cozy, and service is great!!
After reading some of the negative comments I feel obliged to comment. I usually don’t post reviews. This place is amazing. It’s run by one lady who does everything. So yes it can take awhile. Last I heard it was take out only. Been coming to this place for 10 years or so. Best pad thai I’ve ever had. The spice scale is 1-10. I’ve never been able to find a place that can match her 3. If you like good spicy Thai this is your place. If you can’t be patient enough to let this small business owner practice her craft, this probably isn’t the place for you. I see people complain about the service, they served inside before the government forced her to close her dining room down. This forced her to let go of the person serving tables. Really sad to see. Again. The best Thai food. People complaining can’t tell
