Had an evening food tasting here - there were several courses of delicious food provided with the experience. We added on the apple cider vinegar drink, which was the right choice to warm us up for the winter food tasting.Although I had noted with my booking that I'm gluten-free, they brought me a few courses with gluten. I had to keep checking and waiting for a revised course to be provided when the mistake was made. If you have a food sensitivity/allergy, keep this in mind and make sure you check with each serving/meal.If you do a group booking, make sure to let them know you want separate servings as they were bringing us one plate for each course for our group, until we asked them to bring us separate ones. Considering the food tasting is an expensive experience and they charge per person, this was the first time I was brought a single plate/serving for a group booking.

Excellent moving towards exceptional.Joined our top 10 cocktails of the world list. Food innovative, fun, complex and for sure tasty. Service attentive, friendly. Yes, it is a small space, but that adds to the personal atmosphere.

Went to Lillia this past weekend and was surprisingly disappointed. The food and drinks were good, but the service was terrible. We were seated and suggested 5-6 plates would be enough for a party of 4 which definitely was not the case. Time between dishes was not good. Two plates came then 30 minutes for the next. The service lacked in every aspect. After our initial cocktail we were not ONCE asked for another beverage - a waiter had to be flagged down and when he brought a drink the empty glasses were never cleared from the table, nor were any of the other guests prompted for another beverage.Additionally, for talking up the variety of ingredients in the dishes, one would think that our plates and silverware would be cleared at least once or twice (every course ideally), but that wasn't the case. 6 dishes one side plate.I was excited for this place - the food and drinks were good, but the poor serivce and bad advice regarding ordering overshadowed any enjoyment we may have had. Working with a restaurant service consultant or visiting a higher end place in the area may do wonders for this place.

Some of the dishes were pretty good. The tuna and ceviche were both great. But worth $100/pp w drinks? Not really. Some dishes were chewy and borerline inedible. Service was not great at all. Might be the worst I have had in PDX. They The bar service was ‘closed’ before desert even arrived. On a Saturday night…Can’t even make a simple old fashioned? How about some decaf coffee then? Nope. Don’t have that either. Okay then….There are better places to spend your money in Portland. If you go, get the fish dishes à la cart. Cocktails, when you can get them, were great.

Just had one of the best experiences of my life at Lilia. Do yourself a favor and do NOT miss the tasting menu, which rotates weekly. It was an incredible value, and more importantly there was not one single disappointing dish in the 8-course lineup. Some stand outs were the amberjack crudo in aguachile: the fish was incredible and cut so pretty, and the aguachile was just the brightest and tastiest i’ve ever had. The quesadilla with huitlacoche, sprouting broccoli and marinated radish: never having tried huitlacoche I was shocked at how decadent and rich it tasted… every flavor in the dish worked like magic with the others. The pork collar: as soon as I touched a piece of the pork collar confit it fell apart under my fork, cooked to perfection. Like the carnitas of your dreams. And the chocolate & salted hazelnut tart with kumquats: probably the most interesting combinations of flavors and textures in any dessert I’ve tried… the kind of experience that’s just delightful every time you take another bite. Every dish was just a surprising explosion of flavors and beauty. This is exciting food. Absolutely no letdowns with the service (every staff member was enthusiastic and knowledgeable) and the ambience as well, but the food is truly mind-blowing.Vegetarian options: Every ingredient is treated like the star in these dishes, which means the vegetarian dishes were a burst of flavor, spice and texture. I had the roasted fennel with fennel harissa and the white asparagus with salsa pipián, pickled rhubarb and morel mushrooms and both were just excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner & our conversation with the Chef at the counter… the cocktails were instagram worthy & delicious. All the flavor components of the dishes complimented each other & beautifully plated. Our favorite savory dishes was the slow cooked pork with pickled Japanese apples & a dollop of apple butter. The salty with the tangy was so so good.I love that the chef offers multiple desserts. I’m a huge fan. I firmly believe no meal is complete with at least a couple of desserts. I was told sometimes they have 3 or 4.The 2 desserts for the evening were a Merengue Baked Alaska & Upside Down Mango cake. The combination of warm toasted gooey merengue & cold tart ice cream had me thinking I should order a second. The ambiance is casual. You leave completely full. We even had a little left over to take home. The chef’s experience is not a pre-fixed dinner where you may need to go grab a burger after. Which we have definitely done before.

Menu was a little overcomplicated, as was the food. Many of the dishes were good, but there were almost too many layers of flavor, texture and ingredients that ended up sometimes tasting like more of a flavor mash up than experience or journey. There were glimpses of genius, but a little too much wizardry for my liking

This was such a lovely experience- my partner and I celebrated with the tasting menu and wine pairing and it was possibly the best tasting experiences I’ve had. Flavors were exceptional, portions generous, and they kindly accommodated a food preference. I look forward to returning!
