Cozy little bar with a nice mezcal cocktail selection. We had two cocktails that were on the boozy side if you look at the cocktail diagram but they tasted like pure alcohol. Kinda disappointed with the actual cocktails but the ambiance made up for it.

This place is the real deal. Go to Comala with an open mind and try what the bartender suggests. You will learn about agave and feel like you’re in Mexico. Don’t skip the botanas!

Ordered one drink, 16 + 2 dollars tip. But credit card ended up being charged for 24 dollars. There is no way I would have agreed to a 24 dollars drink. Not honest.

Comala is an unassuming bar tucked among the park blocks. They are purveyors of Mezcal. It is a unique experience.

We had an exceptional experience at Comala. The drinks menu came with a diagram of the flavor profile AND how each was served. Why doesn’t every bar do this? If you want wine it’s all Mexican. Then the food we ordered (skirt steak tacos, chilaquiles but very elevated, and padron peppers) arrived and every dish was wonderful. Highly recommended.

The restaurant was interesting. We sat outside which was a nice night, although we didn't feel very safe. We were in an area that was full of homeless people. The were across the street in the park smoking weed and walking by our table asking for money. It's definitely not in an area I would want to walk around alone. I'm not sure I would go back just based on that. The food was good though

I wasn't a big fan of the music, it was kinda scary to be honest ? drinks were good, we didn't really try the food . It would've been better if there was better music . Overall though everyone was very kind and knowledgeable.

Incredible cocktail line up. Super savvy bartenders. Drinks are a little $$ but the quality is worth the dollars. Whoever thought to use corn nuts as a free bar snack is a genius.

I absolutely love this bar. It’s got a romantic vibe with the lighting, music and movie on the wall. A very impressive selection of mezcal/tequila/bacanora.The bar snacks are delicious. Last time we ordered the chilequilas served as nachos. They were insanely good. Bartenders know their stuff and the cocktails are fantastic.Go here. You’ll love it.

What an amazing find. We spent over 3 hours sitting at the bar talking with the bartenders and learning about all the amazing agave spirits they have. You can have an entire journey through history and delicious spirits with an amazing guide through the people and places that make this stuff. Story after story came with each flight. The flight pours are half ounces, so you can try a lot of stuff over the course of the night.Next, the food menu is short and dedicated to excellence. We felt like the execution and creativity were way above expectations. The sauce served with dishes were all remarkably smooth and soft, not just delicious. The chilaquiles were so perfect, it was like each chip was individually coated in a precisionayer of delicious. Like enrobed, perfect. We also had a scallop and strawberry aguachile. What a unique and we'll executed dish. The savory strawberry sauce was incredible. Who knew strawberries could taste like. This place deserves your visit.

We were excited to try the chef’s menu at De Noche but ended up walking out because of the terrible service. When we got there, all tables were full but we were told we could go to the bar next door, Comala, and order food there. However, after 10 minutes we still didn’t have menus to order drinks. After asking about food, we were told we couldn’t order food from De Noche after all and only had a limited menu. So when a table opened up, we went back to De Noche to eat. We waited another 20 minutes and a server never came to take our order. Meanwhile other guests were getting refills and being served. This place boasts inclusivity, but as the only Latinos there besides the workers, we did not feel welcome. We ended up going to Chelo, another restaurant that serves great Mexican food and the service there was exceptional. The atmosphere was also really fun and inviting. It made our night after our bad experience at both De Noche and Comala, and I highly recommend it!!!

The bar/restaurant is one of the best experiences Portland has to offer. The drinks are fun and tasty. The food menu might be limited but it is absolutely amazing. Every item on the menu is bold, real and will blow your mind. A true gem! The birria takes the crown!
