“The Pearl district's timeless dive bar that is on just about every Portland list on the subject. It's dark and open until 2:30am yet the staff are friendly and the bar has a loyal following. Even their website doesn't work. If you really want a hardcore dive bar this is the one. Good luck finding parking. -VanPort Insider“
“I do not recommend Star Theatre! We went to see MC Chris August 9th 2025 at 9pm. We did get to the venue when we get there (me and my husband.) We hand the bouncer/security our IDs and he checks my husband's super fast when he gets to mine he takes a rather long time. He was a tall male, facial piercing, hat, around six foot, blonde beard, mid size man. He then tells me its fake. I tell him it unfortunately isn't but I try not to be too aggressive or argumentative. My husband then hands him his ID back and ask him what the difference between the two are and what he thinks makes it fake. He shines the light through them again and then refuses to tell us why he thought it was fake just thay it was fake and he didn't believe use but we could get a ticket refund online. I try to get a refund as my partner will jot go in without me and I do not know how else to prove its valid. But they won't refund me because it wasn't an issue with the tickets just the venue. So my partner the smart man he is calls non emergency and explains the situation they said when they get a free patrol car they will send them our way. So we wait and the bouncer changes so we try again thinking maybe that bouncer just doesn't like me. The younger guy looks at our IDs and right as he is about to let us in the old bouncer comes out and tells him he cannot let us in that my ID is fake. The younger guy ask how to tell because he's never seen a fake before again the first bouncer just shines the light and says "I think its fake she can't come in but he's fine." We asked the younger guy if there was a manager above the other guy he said unfortunately no and asked if he could explain how mine is fake. He said he had no clue but he couldn't go against the other bouncer as he was above him. We explained we weren't mad with the younger bouncer we understood. We did tell the old bouncer we had called patrol to prove my ID valid. Finally the Patrol pulls up (not their fault its Saturday night I am sure they were very busy.) Then cop takes both our IDs runs a light over both and then runs them both through the system both came up valid. He then goes the the bouncer and explains my ID is indeed valid. The bouncer is SO QUITE. He simply says "stage is to the left." I give a little glare and say thank you as I snatched my ID back. Overall we missed 1hour of our concert. The concert was good. The police were so sweet. The bouncer was a total JERK! and in the end he never even scanned our tickets...I have been to Bars, Dispensarys and 21+ venues all with this ID before and never had a problem.“

“Such a fun little cocktail lounge in downtown Portland! Really enjoyed the vibe, dim lit, music space. Has two seperate spaces one side when ypu first walk in for walk ins and another space specifically for reservations. Reservation side was definitely not as busy but both sides were chill and cool. Only thing we didn't like and can complain about is when asked for Titos vodka for our drinks we were told they dont carry and serve Titos. For a cocktail lounge you would think they would have a big variety of alcohol choices. The drink menu was also over whelming as we weren't sure what most of the items on the menu were. All in all we enjoyed our time with friends at the Teardrop Lounge ✨️“

“This is a great first date place. The food presentation was outstanding. However, we felt it was a little blan. They use RC soda products here, which are flat at the bar but have carbonation if gotten from the back. Amazing happy hour!
Kid-friendliness: Not great for kiddos.
Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of wheelchair accessibility tables.“
“Food is alright, just average fried food with the exception of their buffalo wings.
Service is always consistently good with friendly bartenders who are attentive to one's needs. Well made drinks.
Atmosphere, what can I say, it's cozy and warm with soft RGB LED lights giving the room a perfect ambiance.
On Friday evenings they have what is called The Queen's Keys, With notable Portland Drag Queens Saint Syndrome and Nichole Anoscopy. In which they cover popular music in a Lounge style. Think Richard Cheese in Drag. I absolutely love their renditions. It's Soo much fun.
Vegetarian options: The meatless chicken nuggets are bomb!
Parking: Free street parking AFTER 7PM.
Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space to move around. With ADA Restroom.“

“Went to Oregon for the first time and stayed in the hotel 10/10. I’m glad they had a restaurant there able to get drinks and go up to my hotel with no problem definitely recommend. We went every night to get a drink since they had a drink package deal for Labor Day so we got free drinks for every stay. Thank you Kevin for serving us each night!! Will definitely return back.“

“Seems like a new location. Stopped in during the day on a work trip. It's mainly a bar/nightclub setting but the food seems to be authentic African dishes. Also has a great island reggae/ afrobeat vibe and decor. Cool artwork painted onto the walls. Ordered the goat pepper soup. Get ready for your nostrils to open up if you're not used to spice. Kept eating despite the heat. Flavor was great.“

“Just a great little tiki bar. Fun creative cocktails. Everything was really nice. They use great spirits with good quality ingredients. The little snack we had was great. Pretty busy little place for a Monday night. Lots of locals you could tell were there after work decompressing chatting visiting. Definitely had a real old Portland vibe that I remember from before the pandemic. Caught me off guard. I had low expectations but it was a great little spot.“

“Went on Superbowl Sunday. Nice people, the Bartender was absolutely wonderful! First time visit, and I was made to feel very welcome in a bar that appeared to be regulars. Also, the $10-20 cost I provided reflects the fact that I was there for a couple. Also, I tip.“

“We were there for the first time on the evening of January 10, 2026. We sat at the bar for a bit because we were a little early for our reservation. Michelle brought us a couple of beers and we ordered a plate of six oysters. She chatted cheerfully with us while she busily poured drinks for others and then introduced us to her two sons and a son’s girlfriend, who all also work there. Everyone was so friendly and kind! When our table was ready, Michelle thanked us for being there and said that it was great to meet us. At our table, we ordered another half dozen oysters, a caesar salad, a couple more beers, and two big bowls of cioppino. Absolutely delicious with the large, thick slices of freshly-made garlic bread for dunking. This place is a true gem. Four generation of family working there and their love for the place and what they do shows. Can’t wait to go back!!“

“Not only did every drink I get from here absolutely slap, but there was a girl in pink, who went out of her way to find me what I needed in order to have a wonderful night. Every bartender that served me was polite and courteous, and made a wonderful drink.. if I could write service more, I would“
“I frequented this place a lot over the years, it’s nice and intimate inside and a great place for a date night. We don’t usually order food but the cocktails are straight forward and well mixed. It’s not the best place in town to order a cocktail, but it is the best place in “

“Low Tide Lounge has the kind of laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The empanadas and nachos were delicious, the micheladas were on point—and best of all, the jukebox and pool table are both free.
What more could you want???“
“The SZN coffee here is hands down the best coffee beverage I have ever had in my entire life, and I have had a lot of coffee. Drive in from out of town for this drink if you have to, it is worth it!
Other things to love: all of the baristas I have interacted with have been kind and the space is lovely. 12/10 recommend!“
“The service was wonderful the bartender was very very friendly and accommodating for my besties and I when we went on a friends trip for one of their bachelorette party's. It's an absolute vibe and I would absolutely recommend it if you want a chill atmosphere to drink and dance 🥰“

“This is my favorite 3rd place. I come about once a week at different times and days, and I can always find seating. There's some seats that are very comfy. I like to work, read, draw, and talk with friends. The kava is good and fairly priced all things considered. The bartenders are all great and friendly. Highly recommend as a hang out spot.
I feel like I've noticed recently that the pineapple slices that come with each bowl are always very sweet and juicy. It's sad to gulp down a bowl of kava and have an astringent pineapple core as a chaser. In any case, their kava is well brewed and tastes as least-bad as it's possible to be.“

“I am pissed that the bartender changed the music from the juke box. I wasted $5. Never heard a single because she listened to what she wanted. Third time this has happened. I am not coming back here and keeping my friends from going here after this.“

“Fun place to have an after work drink and nosh. Parmesan popcorn is a salt and pepper cheesy delight. The happy hour grilled cheese was disappointing. Basically dry toast with cheddar in the middle, but the tomato soup was lovely and smooth with a satisfying bit of heat on the back end. The Moscow Mule I had was very good. All in all a pleasant place to meet up with friends. Good happy hour, great service. Attentive without being helicopter service.“

“Can’t say I’ve ever been to a cocktail bar that featured saltwater tank aquariums. They’ve certainly got novelty going for them here.
I only ordered one drink which was the Perfect Matcha. It was vodka based and I actually don’t like vodka, so I don’t know what I was thinking when I ordered it, but it was surprisingly refreshing. The vodka is green tea infused and makes it really light and clean tasting. A touch sweet and creamy (but not thick) with some earthy matcha flavor. I liked it.“

“Excellent whiskey bar. Good selection of whiskeys and full bar options with attention to detail and balance on cocktails. They take their cocktails very seriously which is appreciated. And atmosphere is unique— old library feel with brass book shelf wheeled ladders (for liquor though), leather seats, and large wood slated floors. Food was so so, but highly recommend for drinks.“
