First time we're not with parents, kids, or other family for Thanksgiving Dinner. Absolutely outstanding. Turkey was a smidge smokey and tender, stuffing was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, and gravy was savory perfection. Thank you to Matthew, Gabriel, and the whole staff for such a lovely experience.

The crew did a fabulous job tonight working the front and back of houses exceptionally well, my buddy Parker works here and I was unaware so that was a pleasant surprise! My server Dean was truly exceptional and provided warm hospitality, great service and great times were had!

On one hand, it's just chicken. On the other, it's probably the best chicken I've ever put in my face!

Wow, where to start? Moe (Mo?) went above and beyond for us the second we arrived. Made us feel so welcomed and individualized. He was so kind and informative. Our server (I'm embarrassed to say I forgot their name..) was fantastic. Great recommendations! Really knew his stuff. What flavors paired with other menu options, it was a truly wonderful dining experience.

I very much dislike sweet potatoes, our server said "trust me, these aren't your typical sweet potatoes." As someone who will try anything once, I said why not. Guys. These sweet potatoes with the Vadouvan sauce.. holy shit. Am I a fan of sweet potatoes? Only if they're from Mama Bird.

We got the half chicken with Aji Verde and Chimichurri sauces. Absolutely fantastic. We also got the pork chop, and let me tell you, that whole plate was something to write home about, a novel at that.

Overall a true 10/10. The atmosphere was also notable. The open woodfire grill was really cool to watch as we drank our DELICIOUS cocktails. I *need* to go back.

I just worked the night market and needed to get a really good meal. I traveled here all away from southern Oregon for the night market. I needed something really nutritious man you guys really took at home. The sweet potatoes were out of this world. The chicken was roasted fireplace to perfection. Great job!

A primo spot for wood-fired chicken, outstanding sauces, though what they might be best at is seasonal side dishes.

Absolutely atrocious service. Went for my mom’s birthday and the waitress was horrible. I have spent 6+ years as a server myself, and this was unacceptable. Take your business elsewhere.

We had a fantastic experience sharing a whole chicken with three incredible sauces – each one was delicious. The family-style setup was ideal for my wife and me to enjoy together. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between upscale and laid-back; it’s fancy enough for a special occasion but relaxed enough that you can drop in wearing casual clothes.

A special shoutout to Mo, the manager on duty, who made our night exceptional. He was attentive, provided great recommendations, and really knew how to make us feel welcome. He even gave us some fantastic ideas for what to try on our next visit – definitely a way to keep us coming back.

I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a laid-back yet elegant date night or a place to gather with friends for delicious food and drinks. It’s truly a gem!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review for Mama Bird Restaurant in Portland, OR

Mama Bird is an absolute gem! From the moment you step into the dining room, you’re met with a spotless, beautifully designed space that feels both upscale and welcoming. Every detail, from the stylish decor to the immaculate cleanliness, speaks to a restaurant that takes pride in its atmosphere and guest experience.

The service here is top-notch. The waitstaff is not only attentive but incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They go out of their way to make you feel like a valued guest, anticipating every need without being overbearing. The food is phenomenal—every dish arrives with that unmistakable wood-fired flavor that adds a smoky depth you won’t find anywhere else. Whether it’s a savory cut of meat, perfectly cooked vegetables, or an inventive side, the quality and flavor are second to none. You can taste the skill and care that goes into each plate.

And then, there’s the general manager, Morgan Garcia. Morgan takes this dining experience beyond five stars. Running a dinner shift is no small feat, yet Morgan manages it with such grace and precision. You can feel Morgan’s presence throughout the dining room, warmly greeting guests and ensuring that everything flows smoothly. It’s clear that Morgan leads by example and has built a team dedicated to excellence. Her friendly, welcoming demeanor makes you feel right at home and transforms an already wonderful meal into an unforgettable experience.

Mama Bird is the place to be in Portland. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on a perfect night out—exceptional service, delicious food, and an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and cozy. A huge thank you to Morgan and the entire team at Mama Bird for setting the bar so high.

Mama Bird in Portland delivers more than just a meal; it’s a full experience steeped in warmth, community, and incredible flavor. I arrived on what could have been a stressful note, as my plus-one was delayed by 40 minutes due to a multi-car accident. Thankfully, the General Manager, Mo, went above and beyond, graciously holding our table and welcoming us with the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like a regular. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive as well.

Starting with the wood-fired rotisserie chicken, this dish is a star all on its own, but the lineup of house-made sauces adds a whole new dimension. From the refreshing kick of Aji Verde to the herbaceous Chimichurri, each sauce has its own unique charm. The Vadouvan Curry sauce introduces a subtly spiced warmth, while the Smoked Garlic Miso offers a deep, savory complexity. You can’t go wrong, no matter which you pair with the perfectly roasted chicken.

If you’re looking for something other than chicken, the Wagyu Steak au Poivre is an absolute must. This 12-ounce Painted Hills Picanha is perfectly crusted with a mix of green, white, and black peppercorns, then topped off with a sherry jus and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt. It’s rich, flavorful, and cooked to your preference.

On the side, I couldn’t pass up the wild mushroom medley, and it didn’t disappoint. Charred to perfection, these mushrooms have a beautiful depth of flavor with just a hint of tang, making them a must-try. While I loved the mushrooms, other sides, like the lightly seasoned grilled potatoes or creamy sweet potatoes, looked just as enticing.

As for dessert, the apple cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was the perfect sweet finish—warm, cozy, and just the right level of indulgent without being too heavy. Mama Bird also offers a rotating selection of mocktails, which add a fun, refreshing twist to the meal without the alcohol.

And let me not forget the Farmer Greens salad, a dish that I could happily eat every day. The salad greens taste incredibly fresh, and the dressing is so delicately done that it enhances rather than overpowers the natural flavor of the vegetables.

Mama Bird left me with a truly memorable experience—friendly service, delicious food, and a vibe that makes you want to return as soon as you leave.
