If it was up to me I wouldn’t give any stars. I will be contacting corporate very soon. I accidentally spilled my drink on the floor. Apologized and asked for another drink. She said yes. As my date purchase a drink she said no I need water. Mind you I only had one drink. I did not spill my drink on purpose. I was trying to hop up on the stool and my hand slipped. The bartender's ignored me the whole time. I will never ever step sight in there again. Very rude and racist.

I came in for a simple order, chicken strips and fries. The bartender was incredibly rude and literally did not acknowledge me between me placing my order and filling it. When it was done, she grabbed it and placed it in front me in a manner which made it clear I was annoying her beyond reason, and all i did was place my order and wait.
It is hard to imagine worse service, and I hardly ever leave reviews, but if you are sitting at home looking up places to go, rule this place out and go anywhere else. The service sucks

I hate leaving these reviews.... There are a couple of exceptions to this review: the lady in cat ears and one other who I'm sorry I can't identify have been very good and attentive in my experience. However I've been to this bar more than several times and the bartenders are on their phones or spending time with who I can assume are bar regulars or boyfriends by the way they act, refusing to even look at the door when it rings in a new customer. When I'm at the bar with a lottery ticket or empty beer and being walked by with no acknowledgement I honestly just won't come back. This isn't the only bar with pool, bathrooms, lottery or even attractive bartenders and I don't encourage anyone to come to this place of the majority of tenders will behave this way..I receive better customer service from the security officers watching the door. Tipped themselves 120% on my card and then hung up on me when I called to clear up the mistake. It's not even like I tipped poorly to begin with. It's a shame that an old Portland fixture would start scamming people.

I haven’t eaten here but I’m going too! S O ms like the kitchen is really clean, they have over 20 TV’s to cover all your games, pool tables and games too. I like the chill atmosphere and the bartenders are nice :) The only thing creepy is the blocked off dummy waiter lol.

Have been going to the Marathon since the early 90's. The food is just as good as ever however, the amount of tv's now is insane and the staff used to be nice and friendly, not anymore, just a lot of grunts, and what do you want. On Sunday the bartender decided to tip themselves $70 on a $58 bill. Even if my handwriting wasn't legible, you would assume a $10 tip on the low side and a $20 tip on the high side,. But to think it said $70, give me a break. The deal breaker was when I called this morning to ask them if they could help with a over charge on my card, they hung up, not once, but twice. So much for ever going back.

Stopped by for the early morning Texas vs Arkansas game. Had a Bloody Mary and it was pretty good. Didn’t eat for because the fryer was broken. Awesome place to catch a game.
I used to love going to the Marathon Taverna every couple of weekends with friends of mine but not anymore! I want to know what happened to the $3.00 breakfast(I know it sounds crazy but it was pretty awesome lol)? It went up in price and WAY down in quality. BOTH of the "bartender's" this morning were down right frigid they're Customer service skills were nil. Wont be running this "Marathon" for a very long time.

The staff were great, and the guy in the bathroom who offered me drugs couldn't have been more polite! Definitely recommend the "shot of tequila."

The woman bartenders are shady and racist also stuck up their noses are so far up that they may drown if they walk in the rain they are superficialandhate other woman if your smaller physically then them they hate on you because you are not overweight
