The food was very good just as the service!

One of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten in. Plenty of good food choices. Many Vibrant flavors. Friendly helpful servers.

In my opinion, I have had better Indian food elsewhere. Inappropriate table size, chilly atmosphere, limited menu.

Maruti never disappoints! The owners are incredible people who love what they do, and that is apparent when eating their food.
I love that there are plenty of mild options for my kids too! Can’t wait to try their new vegan chicken options.

We appreciated this restaurant's pure vegetarian and Jain menu options, which made it a good fit for our dietary preferences. The service was friendly and hospitable. However, the menu was somewhat limited, and a few items, like masala papad and pani puri, didn't quite meet our expectations.

*Amazing food*. Always good.

We have been trying to eat with awareness. This is easy to control at home, but going out it gets difficult. Eating rich Indian flavors yet staying on plan is a bonus, and it's done so well at Maruti. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Everything about this restaurant is wonderful, and there was an open table!

Vibe & Atmosphere Nestled in Portland’s vibrant Hawthorne District, Maruti offers a sacred-meets-casual experience for lovers of plant-based Indian cuisine. The space feels like a cozy, humble temple — not showy, but deeply intentional. What We Ordered We came to celebrate a birthday and turned our table into one giant thali, ordering a lush assortment of dishes and chutneys. Here’s what we enjoyed: • Chutneys Galore – Mint, habanero, mango, tamarind, raita, coconut yogurt — each vibrant, fresh, and housemade • Aloo Gobi – A soulful blend of cauliflower and potatoes, with perfectly balanced spices • Palak / Saag – Deep, creamy greens cooked to silky perfection • Khichdi – Comforting, wholesome, and grounding • Chik’n Tikka Masala – Vegan brilliance; rich, smoky, and utterly satisfying • Gluten-Free Garlic Naan – Crisp edges, soft center, bursting with flavor To close out the meal, the owner Falguni surprised us with a vegan cardamom kheer — a creamy, sweet blessing of a dish that made the birthday feel truly special. Flavor & Philosophy Every dish at Maruti sings with purity and intention. The spices are full but never overwhelming, and the ingredients taste incredibly fresh and clean. This isn’t just Indian food—it’s a modern temple-style reinterpretation of tradition, offering a sattvic-feeling meal without being dogmatic. Vegan, gluten-free, and onion/garlic-free options are clearly available and generously accommodated — a gift for spiritual eaters, sensitive bellies, or those practicing Ayurvedic or Jain diets. Price & Value Dishes are generously portioned and fairly priced for the quality, freshness, and care. This is not fast food — it’s soul food — and absolutely worth every penny if you’re into conscious dining and culinary craftsmanship

I ordered the chicken tikka masala with fried plant-based chicken chunks. What I got instead was a sauce with mushrooms and potatoes — no explanation, no substitution notice. If you’re out of an ingredient, don’t just throw in random replacements. Cancel the order. Fortunately, I ordered through Uber Eats and got a refund. Also, the sauce itself wasn’t anything to write home about.

Great atmosphere, the food was delicious, and they even gave us some free naan. Seems like they have great values as a restaurant and business too. Would recommend.

Food was of decent quality but there’s not much variety. Just 5-6 vegetarian basics. Naans and chana masala were good but the rest of the food did not taste really what one would expect in an Indian restaurant. The vegan mango lassi was good.
