My new favorite brunch spot right now.❤️Saagshuka ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐- super flavorful: slight spice, garlicky, creamy- better than normal shaksuka- loved the crunchy roasted garlic- got it with bacon- the bread was insanely goodPakora waffle with chicken ⭐⭐⭐⭐- love the chicken, it's so juicy and crispy it was a tiny bit sweet, wasn't spicy- the vegetables are really crisp and almost sour in a good way? It's almost like coleslaw but not overly mayonnaisey- loved the chickpeas- the waffle was a little dry but it had so much sauce that it didn't matterShrimp and grits ⭐⭐⭐✨- just ok for me- the shrimp was really juicy- most of the contrasting flavor came from the pickled onionsButtah chicken hash ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨- the gravy was good- the potatoes were really good- the balance was great- lots of food

50 bucks for half a chicken and sides saltier than this review. No spice at all. find better Indian food literally anywhere else.

Great atmosphere, but not a great spot for dinner. Sub par options and quality for meals I would consider a standard dish.

Delicious food, excellent service. Don’t sleep on dinner, y’all. Butter chicken fell off the bone and the sorghum that came with the thali was also excellent! I can’t stop thinking about the chickpea fried trout though!!

Absolutely blown away by these flavors! The waffles and fried chicken were a great combo, with chicken falling off the bone and really unique sweet spicy maple tanginess. It's such a treat to get amazing gluten free fried chicken and to order food without worry. We also had the hash and extra chutney. It was rich and filling with a unique flavor combo that I can't top craving. Our service was impeccable. I ordered through the app and they were out of something so I got a personal text to exchange the order. Such great service! We ordered takeout and I was too hungry to remember to take a picture. Highly recommend

This was the single best dining experience I've EVER had. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, and there was a personal touch that I've never experienced. The lamb was probably the best dish I've ever had, and the cocktails were stunning as well. This might be the best restaurant in Oregon, the creativity of the flavors is OFF THE CHARTS. 10/10.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

We came here for dinner because of the rave reviews on brunch and the fact that everything is gluten-free/celiac safe! It is definitely an Indian fusion restaurant and a bit more upscale in decor, dishes, and plating than I would expect from an Indian restaurant. That being said, it was nearly empty when we arrived and we ended up getting served quite quickly. The service was friendly, the staff answered questions about dietary restrictions easily, and the food was decent. While I love the no tip (staff are paid decently) policy and the community meal (pay what you can) option they have, I would say this place will disappoint you if you are looking for a good value and large portions. We (two people) paid $45 for two mediums, an appetizer, and one drink with essentially no leftovers to take home. Though, on a related note, they do make dressings and flatbreads from scratch and they don't serve rice which wouId often cut down on costs. Additionally, while I do like being served quickly, the food came out almost too quickly. As in, the fried chickpeas were in a large container and were simply scooped out into a bowl and handed to us cold. I imagine most of the cooking is done long before service and it would be nice to cook a few more elements to order since it seems like the staff isn't overwhelmed with customers at dinner quite yet. Lastly (in case the owner is reading), the website dinner menu listed the pakora trout as (spicy, vegan), but the actual printed menu at the restaurant has been fixed. Otherwise, thanks for the inclusive GF menu with tons of vegan options!

Masala Lab PDX is one of the best food experiences I've had in Portland. The flavor of every dish is beyond comparison. I couldn't describe it if I tried because it is truly beyond comparison. But every dish feels warm and comforting - as food made with love tends to be. Service is always excellent.I cannot recommend this place enough. I can't stop craving it.Parking: Parking in the back.

We recently tried this Indian fusion brunch place. Their staff is really nice, they have nice variety of vegan options. Their masala tea and chaat hash is must try.
