Small serving sizes, and they're really hard to order with. They missed bringing me several items I specifically asked for and couldn't provide any main course vegetarian. a real shame as there's plenty vegetarian pho in Portland.. shocking, really. They should put a bit more effort into that, it's a vegetarian capital of the US.

Master Kong absolutely went above and beyond. Not only was the food incredible — full of rich flavor and clearly made with love — but the kindness of the staff completely blew me away.

I accidentally placed my order for pickup at their other location, and instead of canceling or making it complicated, they personally delivered my meal to me. That kind of thoughtfulness is so rare, and it meant so much.

Everything from the food to the people just radiates warmth and care. You can tell this place is run by people who genuinely love what they do. Master Kong will always be a part of my Portland travel tradition from now on. ❤️

I think the prices are perfect. The flavors of the food are potentially not what you'd typically expect for chinese food - it's like comfort, hearty, robust food. Not suuuuuper flavorful but comforting for sure.

They give 3 sauces: chili oil, garlic sesame, soy sauce + vinegar, I asked for extra chili oil and garlic sesame. We liked the garlic sesame specifically with the handmade dumplings and the chili oil with literally everything else.

Jiang bing ⭐⭐⭐✨
- wonton crisp a little soggy
- flavors were there though
- not super generous on the meat

♥️Beef stew ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
- ordered extra meat
- wish there was extra bok choy
- noodles seemed fresh!
- would definitely order again

House made pork dumplings ⭐⭐✨
- definitely our least favorite, but it's solely a preference thing
- just less flavor but it really was handmade
- I think a lot of people would like the thicker skin on this

♥️Pan fried buns ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- coming back just for these
- crisp, perfect, juicy
- loved the pork on the inside

One of my favorite places. I order from here at least once a month for lunch(pretty much every other week at this point). I am thrilled with every item I try but the Pork dumplings and Pork steamed buns are my favorite. Excellent food. ❤️

There are not many restaurants as incredible as this one! Service is incredibly fast and efficient - you place an order at the kiosk and before you can even blink the most incredible food you've ever had in your life is placed in front of you. Not to mention it's incredibly affordable, cheaper than most food carts and restaurants in the area.

HIGHLY recommend the jian bing and chinese style dumplings!

Best authentic Chinese food in Portland from someone who lived in China and Taiwan. Incredibly affordable, fast and amazing service. Haven’t had anything this good in a long time! Try the Chinese-style potstickers and jian bing with pork and you won’t be disappointed!

This Chinese restaurant is a true hidden gem for anyone craving authentic flavors. The moment you step in, you can smell the comfort of home-style cooking wafting from the kitchen. Their hot congees are rich, hearty, and perfect for a chilly day—each bowl feels like it’s been simmered with care. The dumplings are tender and flavorful, while the potstickers have that perfect golden crunch that makes you want “just one more” every time.

What really stands out is how authentic everything tastes—no shortcuts, no watered-down recipes, just the kind of food you’d expect from a bustling street-side spot in China. And the prices? Amazingly affordable, especially considering the generous portions. You can walk out with a full stomach and still feel like you’ve gotten an incredible deal.

Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends, this place delivers comfort, flavor, and value in every dish. It’s the kind of spot you find once and keep coming back to.
