There is a warm spot in my heart for McPeets. It's a great neighborhood bar. It's a comfortable place to drop in for a tall cold one, and the menu is good and well executed. Good local tap list, lots of screens, friendly crowd.
I'd been wanting to go here for years but never found the time. It's in a great neighborhood with lots to do and the atmosphere is everything you would want in a neighborhood pub. Food is great and the beer list, while not expensive by Portland standards has something for every taste. Maybe best of all in my situation, it is a quick jump to the airport for visiting friends looking for something close that isn't a chain and has great ambiance with fast, friendly...
I haven't tried the food but it's a great place to have a couple drinks when you have a couple hours to kill. Good atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Would highly recommend it.
