Great little theatre, do yourself a favour and order some Cajun Tater Tots.
You can feel the history. Always a great experience.
Brandon & Hope are great !!!!
Speaking as a former manager for this company. I could go on about the terrible quality of food, laughable prices, and penny pinching, labor cutting, profit driven reputation of Mcmenamins . But everyone already knows that. What I’m really angry at is me and some friends went here recently to see a movie on a 95 degree day, cause when it’s hot out you go to the movies to escape the heat right? Well dont expect that if you go to Mcmenamins. I swear it was hotter inside the theater than it was outside. All of us were sitting in our own sweat in a mostly empty auditorium, which should’ve been a sign for us cause obviously people knew to avoid the bagdad if you’re looking to avoid the heat. How dare you not tell customers at the door, by the way there’s no ac inside the theater? Or maybe they have ac but they haven’t serviced or replaced the hvac system in years cause it’ll cost them money to do so. I wouldn’t be surprised either way. Regardless, you should shut down on hot days or refund everyone’s money because this is yet another reason people should avoid Mcmenamins like the plague.
On the passport quest, got our stamps and our fries reward, fun day!
The McMenamins is basically the same as all the others I've been in. But the theater rocks! It's a very old theater with a very old fashioned style, but it's been well kept up and I enjoy going there just for that.
Parking: It's a very busy area, so you may have to park a few small blocks away.
Wheelchair accessibility: I'm pretty sure it's wheelchair accessible but call to make sure first.

If you’ve ever been to McMenamin’s then you know what to expect. They have a couple of places offsite. The theater is amazing the bar is cool. The bartender was alone and slammed. It was a Wednesday and the Ducks were getting their butts kicked by Ohio.

Went here for happy hour last Thursday, the food was awful. I ordered the bean and cheese tacos which looked like cold black refried beans straight out of a can, no cheese but a little bit of sauce and raw onion on a corn tortilla. No flavor. I also got the shrimp sliders which consisted of two small but heavily battered pieces of shrimp covered in a sweet sticky sauce on what I'm guessing was a sweet Hawaiian roll with pickled carrots. The batter made it hard and chewy. The only saving grace was the beer flight.

Great theater! Grab lunch or dinner, then a movie, and with bar style seating, it totally makes sense to watch a new movie and have a few drinks to set the tone for your date!
amazing service, excellent food, great atmosphere
I love this theater! It doesn't even matter what movie is playing the vibe he is so cool! The staff are friendly and the theater is clean. You can order food at the bar and they will deliver it to you in the theater where you have a little table in front of you. Ample leg room and lots of seating. I highly recommend sitting up in the balcony.

Current movies AND great beer and food. Why watch movies elsewhere?
Parking: You have to park in the local neighborhood which can make it tough. Take bus 15 instead.
