I hadn’t been here since pre-Covid, and decided to see Frankenstein at the last minute. I was horrified, not by the movie, but by the fact that my very mediocre burger was $20. In fact, the entirety of my food order was $52 for a pizza, tots, and a burger—no drinks. The person taking our order winced when I remarked at how much the cost had gone up, and agreed, saying, “our employee burger is $18.”

Apart from the fact that the theater is stunning, I cannot conceive of paying such an astronomical amount for the quality of food McMenamins provides.

Got food poisoning from the cheeseburger. It was a slow Tuesday. I won't be eating here again, even though it's a cool location :(

Okay, the vibes of this place are so sick. By far one of the coolest bars we have seen in Portland yet! We will definitely be back, and we want to come and see a movie next time too!

The theatre and food are fine, but if you can't park, how are you supposed to enjoy any of those things? Drove around the surrounding five blocks, could not find a spot anywhere.

Great little theatre, do yourself a favour and order some Cajun Tater Tots.

Speaking as a former manager for this company. I could go on about the terrible quality of food, laughable prices, and penny pinching, labor cutting, profit driven reputation of Mcmenamins . But everyone already knows that. What I’m really angry at is me and some friends went here recently to see a movie on a 95 degree day, cause when it’s hot out you go to the movies to escape the heat right? Well dont expect that if you go to Mcmenamins. I swear it was hotter inside the theater than it was outside. All of us were sitting in our own sweat in a mostly empty auditorium, which should’ve been a sign for us cause obviously people knew to avoid the bagdad if you’re looking to avoid the heat. How dare you not tell customers at the door, by the way there’s no ac inside the theater? Or maybe they have ac but they haven’t serviced or replaced the hvac system in years cause it’ll cost them money to do so. I wouldn’t be surprised either way. Regardless, you should shut down on hot days or refund everyone’s money because this is yet another reason people should avoid Mcmenamins like the plague.

The McMenamins is basically the same as all the others I've been in. But the theater rocks! It's a very old theater with a very old fashioned style, but it's been well kept up and I enjoy going there just for that.

Parking: It's a very busy area, so you may have to park a few small blocks away.

Wheelchair accessibility: I'm pretty sure it's wheelchair accessible but call to make sure first.

If you’ve ever been to McMenamin’s then you know what to expect. They have a couple of places offsite. The theater is amazing the bar is cool. The bartender was alone and slammed. It was a Wednesday and the Ducks were getting their butts kicked by Ohio.
