Went to the Amity Affliction show at the Crystal Ballroom. Staff was very friendly. Security was spot on. Music sounded great. Wonderful experience. Would see more shows there in the future

Multiple staff members watched me get attacked by a homeless person at the intersection in front of the building and none of them tried to do anything to help. They stood around and didn't even ask me if I was okay after it happened. Just said they'd call Echelon. Thanks guys!

I've been to this place twice. The first time was to see Prof last year and some VIPs that were close to the front of the stage literally put their hands on me and my friend for walking through the crowd (as there was probably at least a 2-ft gap between each person). So if that wasn't deterrent enough, I went a second time because I mistaked the ballroom name for a different venue. Anyways, performance was spectacular. What I will say is the lack of accessibility for disabled people. There's the limited seating for disabled people. And although the staff that maintained the disabled seating last night was impeccable and amazing in every way there should be more accessible places for those who are disabled so we can avoid being injured without paying VIP balcony prices. But that's just me. Another thing that freaked out my anxiety is that literally just walking on the floor will send shockwaves through the hole place and you really feel when the crowd gets dancing around like the whole thing is just going to collapse. I guess it's been a hundred years and it's still going. But nonetheless it drives me crazy.

I will say that the interior is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen in Portland. Amazing! Looking in every way. But the fact that the stage sits catty corner instead of dead ahead because the room is shaped. Kind of weird really gives me a headache.

Absolutely stunning if you don't have any special accommodations needed, otherwise it's kind of a pain.

I will never go back there, I paid alot of money to be bullied by 5 women, then they started a fight, grabbed a bouncer and had us kicked out. The bouncer had ahold of my side, even though I was calm and walking out, like he requested, I told him he was hurting me and to let me go but he would not. I now have a bruse. Another thing that was a bit strange. No search at the door, and so I could have brought literally ANYTHING in with me. I can't believe this place has shows like this! It was the worst experience I've ever had. So one star because it was a beautiful place, with a dangerous twist.

I got assaulted at the Alexandria Kay concert and was basically told they were sorry it happened but they don't know what to tell me about pressing charges.
Some lady's didnt like that fact that 15 of us were in a group together and decided to shove my friend so hard she flew into other people so I got between them so my friend couldn't get hurt and one of the other two lady hit me in the back of the head 3-4 times. My head is killing me and with it getting worse even if it's been kinda slow going we are wondering if I got a concussion. I was offered no real solution to this other then getting explained.
That it was more important to get these other two ladies out of the venue so the artist could come on stage versus taking care of the people who got assaulted. Multiple people had called and whistled for security prior to things, becoming physical for no one to approach us or take care of the situation until after I had been attacked. We also don't think the venue told Alexandria Kay about what had happened minutes before her coming on stage.

Was not a fan of the layout. Really seems like a fire hazard.

The most beautiful venue for a metal show I've seen yet. I only take a star off because when people jump around, the floor feels like it's going to collapse lol

I am handicapped. Standing for long periods is difficult. I bought handicap seating and VIP entrance for the Poppy show. The tickets said 5:30 entry time. When we arrived, I spoke to the gentleman sitting at the podium at the entrance he was also older, overweight, and didn't seem to be able to stand or walk very well himself . I explained my situation and asked to be able to go inside to sit or for any accommodation. He smiled and refused. There was a woman who had a cane with some type of seating attachment on it. He got up and took that away from her. We stood outside until well after 6:00. I asked a couple more times for help and he still refused. We finally got inside, and we were able to take the elevator to the second floor, but when we went to go to the third, it was out of service. The rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The outside door man seemed to enjoy his power and not helping anyone. I feel McMenamins needs to have a policy to help the handicap waiting to enter. Also, maybe let us in the building at the time on the ticket.

I have gone to a lot of Floater shows, some of my most memorable at the Crystal Ballroom

Repeat location for Ida B Wells winter formal. Well liked by students as a venue, not so well liked by students for how PPS runs it and stocks it but that's not the venues fault

I don't like how the stage is set up. It's basically in the corner of the room so not many people get to be up front. Then they split the audience into 2. One side for everyone and one side for 21+. If you're in the 21+ you can't be near the stage. So stupid

Great venue, does get warmer in there though so prepare depending on the show

Don’t buy concert tickets — they might “change” the show and then not offer a refund. My sister bought tickets for three of us to see a Fleetwood Mac cover band on2/14/25. That concert has been canceled, and they subbed in a yacht rock show instead. They’re claiming they can’t offer refunds and it’s “out of their hands,” and that we have to take it up with the ticketing company. The ticketing company won’t offer a refund because they claim they sent an email (which no one received) and that the last day to request a refund was January 25. For a concert taking place on February 14. What a crock of BS! This is a classic bait and switch. Completely unacceptable.

Its a visually cool venue, though is a bit of nightmare to leave when the show is over. One of my least favorite venues in portland.
