Love McMenamins, they have consistently good food, music, low lighting, beautiful art, lovely places, all of them.

However, this particular location has an issue with their service. At times, you'll be forgotten about or outright ignored while the servers chat it up with each other at the bar. They OFTEN just stand around talking to each other for long stretches.

It's fine to socialize at work in this type of environment, sure, not opposed to that. But when I'm sitting waiting for 15 mins and no one approaches to take my order or serve me water, all while laughing and talking about their pets at the bar, it reflects very poorly.

Service was excellent, and despite being slammed because there was a Ducks game on, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was spectacular and it's just a fun place to have a meal.

Great place. Very good to excellent beer. Great customer service and very cool atmosphere, indoors and out. Highly recommend as a place to check out in THE DOPEST neighborhood in Portland.

Love this funky pub in historic building and food has been consistently great. It's a St John's gem and a favorite place to bring our out of town guests as well.

Nice place, saw a movie there, was very hot in there. Poor AC units could not keep up. Staff were awesome!!

This neighborhood pub in St. John's is a good place for consistent food and drinks. I usually order a cheese burger and Cadillac marg. Both are always tasty. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and offer good suggestions (if you can't decide or have questions). Inside and outside seating is available, including a small out building for a small group or intimate meal. The atmosphere in the main pub building is dark, cozy pub feeling. Walls are covered in art work. Has an upper level for movies. The parking lot is adjacent and has entry into the outside/garden area. From there, you enter into the pub.Very cozy and interesting place.

Super cozy movie theater. Unique homelike feel. Great pub favorites like Cajun tots in the consistent Mcmenamins quality that I experience at their other various locations.
