Oh what a depressing place this restaurant and pub has become. This pub was amazing even 5 years ago. Today I went in, more servers than patrons. Yet it took 45 minutes to get an order in. Employees were on their phones and ignoring anyone that came in. And then when we finally got a server to come to our table after we had to go multiple times to the bar to ask for service, they blamed it on us. What a joke this place has become sadly. Be better.
Nice venue with a theatre as well. Friendly staff and tasty treats
Five stars is five stars. This place doesn't need to be over stated. This is simply a really really chill place to go get dinner and watch a movie. Chill atmosphere, good food and great people working there. 10/10, would do again.
Very cool vibe. In town for business and campus visits. And it’s a theater! Tuna salad on sourdough was legit as was the turkey sandwich. Beer selection looked good as well.
Food is pretty good. I sometimes order the daily soup and have rarely been disappointed!
An inviting ambiance perfect for those seeking a tranquil escape from the clamor and chaos of a lively eatery. This spot is ideal for a charming midday rendezvous with that special someone.
Fun place to enjoy a movie.
The kitchen is very small here so the food selection is minimal for the chain. when the place gets busy there can be a huge backup for food orders. they have an outdoor area which has a fun fire pit and a little shed that is fun to pop into. there are a couple of games in there. I absolutely love the theater here. they have a wooden dome where you can see the carpentry on the ceiling. The place is kept really clean. I see a general trend of new people coming in and out to work there. on the inside there is an upstairs location that a lot of people don't take advantage of. so if you want some privacy go upstairs. The location is pretty much on the edge of downtown St. John's making it very walkable to multiple other things in town.
The movies here are the cheapest in Portland. they are first run and you get food beer wine if you want while you watch. The servers here have always been extremely nice...except for that one that kicked me out of a movie, not for behavior but because my phone died and I couldn't pull up my pre bought movie tickets...I had a reference number, but this guy wasn't having anything to do with that. That was the only time I felt like an employee there was completely out of place in the way they treated paying customers. The manner he came in the theater, made comments and pulled me out of the theater was beyond embarrassing. I escalated the incident to the corporate contact, they never answered any of my communications. I didn't even get 2 movie tickets to reimburse the pull out after I was able to show I pre paid.
Neighborhood staple
It's so pretty in here. I wouldn't have ever imagined there was an upstairs. Also a little tucked away spot behind tall trees outside, for outside dining.
I've been to 4 McMenamins, and this by far is the BEST
