I love staying at the White Eagle, a historic working person’s hotel in North Portland. The music venue downstairs is wonderful, food always excellent, rooms are basic and comfy, bathrooms down the hall clean with lots of hot water for showers. Best of all, friendly staff and courteous fellow guests. Bargain prices. I stay here on almost all my trips through Portland.
We didn't stay in the hotel but we had a great time at the Foggy Mountain Spaceship show ❤️
The thing that saves this place is the diner/bar. Because the rooms are terrible. The windows have no seal. The bathroom and showers are not connected to your room and are shared by all guests. There is plumbing in the rooms, as each has a small sink which I have no doubt has been peed in since in order to go to the bathroom at night you need to put clothes on. I don't know if they won't or can't, but reducing the number of rooms and installing personal bathrooms would go a long way from making this feel like an over priced place to use for a couple hours (you get my drift?) to feeling like an actual place you want to stay.
It is incredibly overpriced and no supernatural anything to note. Just creaky floors and stairs of a place that needs some serious updating.
Its differnet
Pretty sure the liquor is watered down drank 10 vodka and crans 158 dollars later barley had a buzz. Good service and food though.
Great getaway in the city. Small and cozy. Only 5 parking spots on the property. Near pretty much nothing else. Can't charge to the room. Showers tiny yet adequate. Nice folks, of course!
Old school...now a hotel, restaurant and more. Good food! Friendly service! Close to to PDX.
This a unique spot and is absolutely a place I'd go back to for live music. We heard KJ Moore whom Id never heard of but was transfixed by their dark bluegrass feel. The sound balance was excellent although there was very little seating where you could see them. I recommend coming early. The place was decorated and laid out like a cozy dark saloon which was fun if a tad unpractical at times. Service was fine. I think one of the barkeeps was having a hard night but the other was very nice. The whiskey they served (I felt required to get whiskey at a saloon) was the best Ive ever had. Even their food was fabulous. While the experience wasnt all around perfect, it was a great date for my wife and I. I'd love to come back!
There is nothing to be done about this due to the historic value of the building. The dance area is far too small and the acoustics are not very good.
Super funky little spot. The saloon downstairs was a great spot to have a pint, and it's within ten minutes of pretty much anywhere i'd want to go in Portland.

Great place to stay.
The location and vibe are great as is the food. However when we were there this past firday night the two ladies behind the bar seemed super annoyed with anyone not ordering something simple like a beer or glass of wine.
Our group was pretty annoyed with them as well so I guess that fits. Don't know if I'd go back.
Great little historic pub.
Cool spot close to the Moda Center. Staff was super helpful and polite. It was a very enjoyable experience.
Great food, Epic Drinks, Fine Service, Cozy affordable rooms, limited parking, and room sinks that double as bed chamber pots!
