Management at this location doesn't care for their staff. Lies after lies. Stop using plastic cups. Stop being lazy and just wash the dishes. Put away your phones and help guest.

With its odd location in a neighborhood scarred by the modernization of Portland this is a truly interesting little bar.
As a part of the McMenamins company it would traditionally be a place I would avoid however, as a resident of the Boise neighborhood and living along Mississippi I have found that this bar is by far and away the most comfortable, welcoming and relaxing bar in the entire area. Forget the trendy bars on upper Mississippi with their excessively rude bartenders and try out this place. Weather it’s a weekend and it’s filled with people off to see a great show or a week night where it’s a slower pace it never fails to hold an energy of that lost neighborhood bar. Also, the bartender Janice possesses an excellent presence of self and has always given me the most friendly and warm service.

Such a convenient location for Blazers games. One stop away on the light rail or a 15 minute walk. Food in the restaurant was really good and you get 10% off with a valid blazers ticket from that same day. Rooms are tiny and shared bathrooms, but I knew that going in. All in all, a cool old building, historic space, conveniently located and great food. I’ll be back for sure on my next visit to PDX.

I stopped by a couple weeks ago. Upon walking in, bartender in a snotty tone asked me what I wanted. Never checked on me after food was delivered. Took a while after we brought to filly come back to r Abel. Was never given a bill. Just the total.

Tonight figured I would give them a second chance. After sitting at the table for a while, the bartender finally yelled across the entire place that everyone had to order at the bar. There are no food menus on the table to even 6 what to order. They had a band that nite.so so why didn't they have extra help. There was only us and one.other table.waitng to be served.

This place could definitely use a refresher corse in customer service. Adn an overhaul of operation standards.

This is a review for their shows- I usually like the sound here but the stage is so awkward when the room is filled up that I can't give it a full 5 stars. Having the line for drinks in the skinniest part of the path just doesn't work. Outside of that, staff is great, venue is great, actually one of the few mcmenamins I enjoy.

Love McMenamins' mission of historical preservation of local cultural heritage. This ole saloon feels like what it likely used to be - rooms upstairs, saloon downstairs. Not a single soul on-site overnight, i.e. no front desk. Bar closes at midnight, downstairs music stops: So, sweet dreams! Tucked away in a quiet deserted corner near Legacy, Moda/Rose Quarter, so, no street noise.
Two negative things: (1) top bunk was not the easiest to climb down from (2) paying hotel guests are still charged cover for music events in the saloon. You may want to allow overnighters to come enjoy the show, White Eagle! All they'll do is buy more barfare 🍻🥂
