Strong moldy smell when we walked in. The soup is heavily seasoned with MSG and tasted like fake broth powder.

This is a beautifully renovated version of the MeKha Grill that was just next door on Division St.
renamed Chi Em MeKha Grill. They specialize in rice plates, vermicelli plates, stew, cocktails and excellent Pho.

I always get the Pho Tai (Pho meat broth, vermicelli, onions, basil, jalapeños, bean sprouts and tender cut beef) and love it. It’s a large bowl and $17. Pho has gotten expensive everywhere in Portland, so the price is no surprise. I do think this is one of my favorite Pho places in town with MeKha Grill (original location on Sandy) and Pho Hung also being my top choices. My friend got the “Pho with all meats.” That baby is packed with flank, tendon, meatballs, tripe, tender cut beef and collagen galore! He loved it!

In the past they were getting their noodles and more from the main MeKha location on Sandy. I’m unsure if their now expanded kitchen and separate dining area gives them the freedom of creating all their own food. Next time I visit I will ask. I definitely recommend coming here and the service is always good.

Parking: No parking allowed on Division St. until a half block down. It’s better to try and park on 50th or 49th Ave.

Wow! Really good, authentic Vietnamese food. Fresh, vibrant and with perfectly balanced flavors and inspired use of spices. Perfect! Appetizers and main courses were excellent. Will definitely visit again and bring the whole tribe!

It is really _that_ good. Bursting with "hole in the wall" flavor BUT it's clean, relaxed, and charming. No compromise here. Succulent, delicious, spicy,

Great food! Good service! Cute atmosphere, especially outside of the weather is dry. Have come back several times before and enjoy it much. Pot stickers are great! Pho is great!

I always get my soup to go, mostly because I’m always sick and the soup makes me feel way better! It’s so delicious! Number 30 is the one for me

Came in on a whim, partner got regular pho Thai, I was feeling adventurous and got the Beef Stew w/ noodles on Special, $20. Holy cow, WAY exceeded my expectations and blew the Pho out of the water (Pho was fantastic but this stew broth…). Meat was perfectly tender, te broth was amazing and so rich, carrots still firm and sweet… What a great find. Will def be returning cause partner is mad jealous and wants the stew next time ;)

Upscale Vietnamese cuisine. Dishes are generously portioned and full of fresh ingredients. I think it is on the sweeter side, but still tasty. The staff is super friendly.

Great bowl of pho for two of us, rice noodles with spring rolls and pork for another of our party. All were excellent. Service was great, and enjoyed the atmosphere, with lots of oxygen from many plantings. Start with green papaya salad- yummmm!

Used to be a little hole in the wall place, looks like they have upgraded to a much nicer renovated space. Prices have gone up a lot. For two tofu vermicelli noodles bowls and an egg roll appetizer plus 15% tip, we paid $60. Happy with the food but too expensive!
