I live next door to Meta Pizza and it's a daily struggle. As soon as they fire up the ovens and the smell of dough and garlic fills the air my mouth waters and I have to battle myself as to whether I'm gonna eat yet another slice that day . The meatball special with saffron Milanese and nutmeg ricotta is out of this world. I usually give into temptation. Highly recommend adding the lamb sausage to the Grandma Style!
As an Italian who just came to Portland over 2 weeks ago I have eaten here maybe 7 times in the last 14 days. I have no shame about it whatsoever because it’s that good. PDX Eater talked big game about Meta. I checked it out. I was surprised to discover that they only have outside seating at a couple of little tables. Since it's mid-December we ate in the car. You buy a whole pie of just a slice. We decided to order slices. My daughter was adventurous and chose a white sauce one and a chicken vodka. I went with tried and true pepperoni.
