Not only is Mikiko Donuts delicious and yummy, nailing every single flavor they come out with, but they truly go ABOVE AND BEYOND for their customers. I had an issue with a Doordash order where I never received it, and while it wasn't Mikiko's fault at ALL, when I messaged them about the situation, they offered to personally drive me over a new order plus extra goodies because of what happened, without hesitation. It's been a long time since I've experienced such kind, generous and empathetic customer service and they deserve all the flowers for this, and for their amazing treats. Unfortunately, this really wasn’t it. I was craving mochi donuts and was really excited to go. Ordered a half dozen to share with my friends. We all tried a small bite of each but ended up throwing them all away. The flavors weren’t balanced and the donuts themselves didn’t hold up well against the frosting.
My friend got chicken and waffles said it was fine. I got a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich and the insides were great but on the donut - it was honestly kind of gross? Like just too sweet and mushy for it to be good.
Such a bummer all around!

I was in the area and decided to give the donut shop a try. I’ve tried mochinut donuts before and really like those, so I thought these would be similar. To my dear surprise, they left much to be desired. I’m doubtful I’ll return unless it’s on someone else’s dollar. The frosting kept falling off the donuts, leaving me eating mostly the plain donut and scavenging the frosting bits like I’m digging for Goldfish from Pepperidge Farm.
The one redeeming aspect, if you can call it that, was the chicken and waffle sandwich. It was very tasty for being gluten-free. Obviously, it wasn’t as good as the gluten-filled version, but for those who can’t dance with the devil known as gluten, it’s an amazing alternative. If you’re craving a gluten-free donut, sweet or savory, temper your expectations, but be prepared to be surprised.

We are so fortunate to have Mikiko Mochi Donuts to provide gluten free dairy free donuts in Portland!! There are so many wonderful flavors to choose from. The donuts are a little chewy and very tasty. Some flavors are regular, but every time there are seasonal flavors to try.

Amazing flavors!! Got 1/2 a dozen, my absolute FAVORITE the strawberry!!! Gluten free!?? The texture reminds me of sticky rice more than a traditional donut. So very very delicious!!! I'll be back!!! It's a smaller place, not a lot of seating - I think there is more outdoor seating than inside, perfect for summer!! Service was friendly, and fast! I would highly recommend if you love pastries and are gluten free and or dairy free!! You may need to park a block away, WORTH IT!!!
