We have been coming to this location for 17 years! The same owner, Jane, always takes such good care of us. The sushi and service are always the best!

I went here with my friends whilst we were out with one of their cats (in a carrier, of course). We showed up fully prepared to sit at the outside tables; however, the very kind server took note of the weather, and asked us if we would rather sit inside. I appreciate them and the folks inside for taking care of us.
The food was great. I got and shared an array sushi. My friends got a Mio Ramen and a Mio Champon and they both loved it. The champon was outstanding, everything tasted really fresh. I definitely look forward to coming back soon! Normally, I'd post pictures here, but the food was so good that we forgot!

Super amazing service and really yummy sake selection! Vegetarian rolls were reasonably priced, a little simple and underwhelming but overall still tasty.

This occurred at the Hawthorne location 6/18/19. As I returned home from picking up my order to go, I received a phone call telling me they gave me the wrong order and insisted I return the food immediately! She added “you can’t live that far because you are already home”. It’s a 15 min drive, plus parking. It was after 9:00 pm and I was exhausted. I suggested they come to me. She declined, insisting it was my responsibility to return the food! I received $4.95 of the $20.80 food I ordered! They refused any financial adjustment, even if I returned it, because they said I received more food than I paid for despite my not receiving what I ordered! I really didn’t want 7 avocado rolls (which I gave away) plus the 3 other rolls in the bag. Only dish I received that I ordered was agedashi tofu which was quite cold. Perhaps if they agreed to some financial incentive I might have mustered the energy to go back. I don’t know. I will never patron Mio Sushi again! It’s probably against health code to give a patron food that had already left the restaurant.
I have been going to Mio sushi for years. The owners are super sweet and have worked very hard to make this into a locally owned "chain". Fish is always fresh. Staff is so nice and helpful. We tried a lot of items, Shrimp tempura, gyoza, cucumber salad, house salad, green mussels, spicy tuna roll, creamy scallop and chocolate cake for dessert. Wow. Lots of great food, good service and pricing.
While Mio Sushi specializes in sushi, we went there craving other Japanese food, and while they have a decent selection on their menu. We were disappointed with our choices. The batter coating on my husband's vegetable tempura was heavy and soft; not light and crisp like quality tempura. My yakisoba was greasy and had uninteresting flavor.
Took my son out for dinner and he often chooses Mio Sushi. I had the vegetable tempura - YUM! We shared sushi which is always fresh and good. This location features patio seating which is on the corner of Greeley and Killingsworht but still is nice on a warm evening.
We've been going to Mio Sushi for over a decade now. This particular location since it opened many years ago. The staff all know us by name. Over the years we have noticed a consistent decline in the quality, with a corresponding incline in the prices. This particular location seems to be frequented more by families with small, loud, children, or an over abundance of college kids, who can be equally as loud. On a summer's day this play is hot and almost unbearable. That goodness they have outdoor seating, but then you have to deal with the loud traffic and smell of car and bus exhaust. In my humble opinion, Mio Sushi need to stop growing and adding locations. In fact, the might do better closing a few locations and focusing on quality. The only plus to Mio Sushi is the staff is always friendly. You will spend a fair penny for mediocre sushi. Doubt if we will ever stop going totally, but we have found better sushi and more reasonable prices within a short drive of our home as well.
