Welcoming staff and delicious sushi. Hard to go wrong here for a great dinner experience. The only reason I give service 4 stars is because our friends never received water throughout the entire dinner, even after they asked for it. Server was fantastic and multi-tasking, so we weren't upset with her or anything, just a little disappointed that our friends were left thirsty aside from their alcoholic drinks. Hands down my favorite sushi spot in Portland. The fish is always incredibly fresh, the rice perfectly seasoned, and every piece feels crafted with care. The staff are welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere makes the whole experience special.
Very easy to miss. Real hole in the wall next to Roscoe’s. But place was packed so I guess the word is out. Sushi was excellent and a good draft beer selection that comes from said Roscoe’s. Some kind of beer share arrangement. We went at 5 and got a seat but it fills up fast so don’t be surprised if there’s a wait. Outside seating is at picnic tables in covered space. Really great Montavilla option. My friend is a vegetarian and had no trouble finding plenty of options.
