Momiji Sushi Restaurant - OHSU

Momiji's location is a bit of a double-edged sword: somewhat hidden, and out-of-the-way for the casual diner, but eminently located for anyone stuck in and around OHSU for an extended period of time. It also suffers slightly from that association, as one might consider it "hospital food", with all of its sordid associations. Thankfully, I can confirm there's nothing to worry about here.

It's not "top shelf" sushi, by any means, but what they offer is still delicious, prepared competently and quickly, and priced affordably. My wife and I dined here after an entire half-day spent in a series of appointments and check-ups, and were famished by the time we wandered over to check this place out (we'd been meaning to ever since our last extended visit to OHSU). Among the multiple rolls in our order, the Miso Sexy and the Valentine rolls stood out among our favorites; they also make a decent miso soup: not too watery, not too strong, but just right!

As my wife is pregnant (again!), I know another visit to Momiji is on the horizon, as we will definitely be delivering at OHSU again. When that time comes, there's no doubt I'll be sneaking out of the delivery room, skipping the cafeteria, and making a bee-line straight for this place, likely smuggling a spicy tuna hand roll or two back with me (my wife's favorite).

It’s a bit far to walk from the main hospital so be prepared for that. It was a bit of a surprise for me. I’ve ordered before from momji Food was ok this time.

Sushi is not fresh. Ordered a tempura shrimp roll and it was rotting. Smelled like i was eating garbage. Extremely overpriced and feel iffy about what the other fish quality i could have ate

This is one of THE BEST sushi spots in Portland and my favorite Momiji location because of its friendly staff and high-quality food!! I always have a great experience dining in. The staff provides great recommendations so I've had the chance to try a variety of their selections, and I've found that the consistency is their greatest trait!!! The sushi is very high quality and fresh every single time; I love sashimi so it's important to me that the fish is fresh. The sushi presentation is phenomenal as well, they serve their food like it's a masterpiece!! The prices are so reasonable that it almost seems criminal to get such high quality for food on the cheap. You are missing out if you are in the area and you don't stop by!!!

Uber tot he place and sit down. Ask about the AYCE sushi and I was told minimum of 2 people for ayce. Ask to talk to the manager and not onsite. I ask again and waiter calls somebody and I'm told no break the rules for me I try to explain I'm not from the area and just caught an uber. No care no worries, all good cause as I'm sitting at the front table I see the chef outside working with his gloves on. The clear plastic ones and he never changes gloves and goes back to prepping food. At that point I was good. Gotta learn to bend sometimes. Or put your rules on line.

Food was good and excellent pricing. If you're looking for an expensive top dollar sushi place then it's not what you want. If you're looking for good food at a good price, conveniently located around the hospitals then this is the place to go.

The food quality is abysmal. I have never had such low grade sushi in my life. Not even good enough for my dog. One of my order was made with half a bottle of Sriracha sauce on it and made it completely inedible. The other bento box had fish with pale color and obviously not fresh. I ended up with abdominal pain after trying a couple of bites and had no choice but to throw the entire meal in the trash!

Everything was amazing, my family and I been trying to find an all you can eat sushi and this place is just perfect everything was so fresh and delicious we will definitely come back (the best part was the incredible service so attentive and nice thank you so much) only thing to watch for is parking it is a little hard to find a parking spot

This place was phenomenal. Parking sucks, but that isn't their fault. I plan on eating here anytime I have to come up to Doernbechers Hospital.
