“Listen, this is the best place to eat on the planet. My boyfriend showed me this location a few months ago and mentioned that he actually went to Chang’s when it first opened back in 89’ in downtown Portland and has followed it around since. My exact thoughts were, “where have you been my entire life?” We try to eat here at least once a week (sometimes twice) and I honestly can’t get enough (although I can barely go back for seconds most of the time)! You guys rock! EXCELLENT SERVICE! EXCELLENT FOOD! There’s not a single thing negative about this place, PERIOD. 💖💖💖“

“Chang's is always an enjoyable experience because you're able to create the exact meal you're in the mood for.
Even though they have a huge dining room they do become VERY busy on the weekends during both lunch and dinner sessions. During this time there's a high potential you'll be waiting in line up to 15 minutes BEFORE your food gets cooked, so be sure to pack your patience. To avoid the crowds do what I do and go on a week day during their lunch session.
They also offer soda, milk, lemonade, beer and wine however there is an upcharge as it's ala carte'. The soda is bottomless so that's a plus.
For years I didn't know this but as it turns out the soup (sunflower or hot and sour) and ice cream are all you can eat too.
You can expect to encounter friendly and attentive wait staff so be sure to budget a tip into your visit. Chang's shares a parking lot with the surrounding businesses so at times parking can be a challenge, due to this consider carpooling.
As I write this lunch is roughly $17 and dinner $22. Oh and by the way, if you're in the mood for Chang's but don't have time to dine in, they do offer a "to go" option but I'm unsure of the price.“

“The tofu is the most delicious of all Chinese restaurant tofu. I discovered this place a week ago and have already eaten here twice.
Vegetarian options: They were very accommodating and added veggies of my choosing
Dietary restrictions: Tofu options for everything I believe“

“I saw Mike Chen from Strictly Dumpling go to one of these in the Seattle area and had to try it. It was exactly as one would expect after seeing a Happy Lamb on YouTube. Definitely worth the trip to Beaverton, but it being a chain, the broths aren't anywhere near as good as places like Chengdu Memory or Shaburina and the like.“

“Lunch hour is cheap, fast, and filling. I work about 5 minutes away and can be in and out in time for my 30 minute lunch break. Staff are consistently attentive and nice:
Vegetarian options: lots of vegetarian options available, but all meals cooked on the same grill that’s cleaned between meals as is usual at a Mongolian restaurant. Depending on how strict one’s diet is this may or may not meet one’s expectations“

“Chang’s is sorta’ a local chain/institution in and around Portland. This location is functionally the same as any other location (having been to the one in Salem, as well as the one in Beaverton).
Decent pricing for what you get and, well, what you get is what you choose. Fairly good range of meat and vegetable options. Excellent staff and customer service, with a special shout out to the older fella’ manning the grill (always joking, even when some customers don’t ‘get’ that he is having fun and playing around). Seriously, some of the negative reviews suggest a complete lack of awareness when it comes to the older fella'. Moreover, if your one-star review is so negative as to be almost unbelievable, I tend to think that it is more of a review of you and your poor attitude. Just saying.
Sure, the interior could use a refresh. Sure, the options bar isn’t always as clean as it could be (even if they are always quick to refill near-empty bins).
But, all in all, this is a great place to go if you are hungry. Recommended.“
