“Listen, this is the best place to eat on the planet. My boyfriend showed me this location a few months ago and mentioned that he actually went to Chang’s when it first opened back in 89’ in downtown Portland and has followed it around since. My exact thoughts were, “where have you been my entire life?” We try to eat here at least once a week (sometimes twice) and I honestly can’t get enough (although I can barely go back for seconds most of the time)! You guys rock! EXCELLENT SERVICE! EXCELLENT FOOD! There’s not a single thing negative about this place, PERIOD. 💖💖💖“

“Chang's is always an enjoyable experience because you're able to create the exact meal you're in the mood for.
Even though they have a huge dining room they do become VERY busy on the weekends during both lunch and dinner sessions. During this time there's a high potential you'll be waiting in line up to 15 minutes BEFORE your food gets cooked, so be sure to pack your patience. To avoid the crowds do what I do and go on a week day during their lunch session.
They also offer soda, milk, lemonade, beer and wine however there is an upcharge as it's ala carte'. The soda is bottomless so that's a plus.
For years I didn't know this but as it turns out the soup (sunflower or hot and sour) and ice cream are all you can eat too.
You can expect to encounter friendly and attentive wait staff so be sure to budget a tip into your visit. Chang's shares a parking lot with the surrounding businesses so at times parking can be a challenge, due to this consider carpooling.
As I write this lunch is roughly $17 and dinner $22. Oh and by the way, if you're in the mood for Chang's but don't have time to dine in, they do offer a "to go" option but I'm unsure of the price.“

“Kung Food is such a gem in North Portland! The staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit feel like a treat. The portion sizes are generous, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. I really appreciate the great selection of vegetarian options—it’s easy to find something satisfying and flavorful every time. Whether you’re grabbing takeout or dining in, Kung Food never disappoints. Highly recommend!“

“I love hot pot, and this place is awesome. We had a little trouble getting beverages that we ordered to be delivered to our table, had to ask 3 separate waitstaff. But they were absolutely packed, so I am cutting them slack here. 4 stars for service only because of this, otherwise everything else was great! The food was excellent as usual.“

“Really chill spot for an all you can eat place.
Service is good, clean, and the food is well staged.
The ladies that manage the place are the sweetest people I have ever met.
Welcoming and remember you after a few visits.
10/10 recommended.“

“It was a new experience and I had no damn clue what I was doing but the cooks had my back and put me on game. It was quiet on a Sunday after church cause everyone was face in plate. The place was clean and the staff really take care of you. I most definitely recommended the ginger sauce that mf Bussin🙏🏿💯“
