We went into a wine bar that wasn’t even busy, but the owner acted like we were bothering him just by being there. No hello, no smile, just attitude. When my partner asked a normal question about the wine, he talked down to her like she was stupid.
On top of that, the wine was way overpriced. Small pours, nothing special, and prices that didn’t match the quality at all. For what we paid, you’d expect at least decent service—but we didn’t even get that.
We finished our drinks, paid way too much, and left wondering how someone can run a wine bar and still be so rude to customers.

“Where loyalty goes to die — and they’ll charge you for the burial wine.”
Came to celebrate my friend’s birthday — a loyal regular who’s poured thousands into this place over the years. He moved one empty chair to our table, and management responded like he’d stolen their wine cellar.
On his birthday, they told him not to come back because he’s “a burden on their business.” Classy.
If loyalty is a burden here, I suggest you lighten theirs. Permanently.

First night in Portland and a big craft beer fan. However, felt like a change of beers and also a big fan of natural wines. Not exclusively natural wines, but are focused on small producers. Friendly and efficient service, without being over the top or disfriendly. Great wines available.

no fuss neighborhood wine bar. comfortable. the place to meet friends for the non-occasion…sometimes you don’t want to think too hard. you want a place to chat and have a glass of wine.
they have a selection of wines by the glass that are off the beaten path and with a decent price…including ports and sherries.
the owners and staff are friendly, attentive, welcoming.

To say this is a "Hidden Gem" does not do the excellence with which this team executes justice. This is "A GEM," full stop. The team here are expert on what hospitality is and should be. The small plate selections are thoughtful and delicious and the wine selection and knowledge behind that selection are the kind of thing that built Portland as a food and Wine destination, and I think are part of rebuilding that Portland. I am a HUGE fan, and when you consider that it is right across the street from @COHOtheater, Run, don't walk to Muse Wine Bar...and more.
