Absolutely amazing! Ordered to have some lunch for birthday and the food is amazing. They threw in 2 churros, and wrote happy birthday on it! 10/10 service, thank you for helping make my day special.

The owner is so nice and the beans and rice themselves pack so much flavor that I often live off them for a week, along with some fresh salsa molcajete from the grocery store :-)

Hidden away among the Valhalla of Mexican Mercados with its well stocked Isles and amazing pastries is this charming and friendly little restaurant.
The gentleman at the counter was approachable and engaging, and I felt welcome, regardless of my inability to speak Spanish or my extreme eccentric whiteness. Honestly, this is not always the case in Mexican Mercados That seemed to cater primarily to the Latino community.

I asked the gentleman at the counter what he recommended and we settled on the Carnitas burrito with a side of chips and salsa. The chips were great and the salsa was fine, but then we must come to that bundle of meat and rice known as the burrito.

As much as I wanted to love the food here, I have to say I was disappointed. The Carnitas burrito was bland. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Carnitas burrito that was not savory and spicy.. The meat seemed somewhat soggy and unspiced. maybe I hit an off day, or just ordered the wrong thing, but I was disappointed and surprised.

I suppose it comes down to the meat. It just didn’t taste like Carnitas at all. If I happen to be in the neighborhood I will most certainly stop at the Mercado, and as long as I am there, I might give Nellys a second chance. The place felt like it had potential and most of the reviews are great. Next time I might try something different or have a more comprehensive discussion with the server.

It’s like going out to the prom with the partner of your dreams, and not getting kissed. Or opening a present on Christmas and finding there is nothing in the box.

I get that taste buds are different, but this cannot be all there is. If I can get back there and have a better meal, I will eat, not only that, but my own words and will revisit this review.

Wheelchair accessibility: Wide isles and relatively low shelves.

Good food.

Fish taco was fresh and had a good flavor. Lime was also very juicy, which I like.

The burrito I asked for potatoes in was good and the sauces were great.

Would eat here again.

I’m so glad I found this place. They have truly authentic Mexican food, like handmade tortillas and bomb mole, great portions and a very reasonable prices. This is my new go to spot for Mexican food. Nothing else compares.

Tasty tacos and burritos from this spot inside Su Casa! My friends enjoyed their asada supreme burritos and I ate my asada and carnitas tacos so fast that I forgot to take pics. Homemade tortillas were delicious and filling is generous. I especially loved their sauces! Would come back to try the other meat/seafood in a burrito and dishes.

Vegetarian options: Vegan options as well

The best, freshest, and most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in Oregon and maybe ever. And I’m from California. The pic and experience say it all. Great portions, great food, great people. I encouraged them to expand and hope they’re able to soon. Homemade tortillas…mmm…Good luck guys!

Wander into this friendly supermarket to find Nelly's serving up a darn good breakfast burrito! Eggs, actually crispy potatoes, bacon, cheese, surprisingly flavorful black beans, and sour cream make up their version, and they grill it for a little color and texture. The red salsa was delightfully spicy, and the service was fast and friendly. I'll be back!Update: WOW, those tacos al pastor are phenomenal, and they make their tortillas in house. Incredible!
