Nick's Famous Coney Island

Great dogs and quick service. I had the Ol' Fashioned dog, my friend had the Chicago. Both were good but not able to be fully ate by hand, uensils were needed. The beer was fresh and the atmosphere commical, I will be back... I do suggest you use the bathroom before getting here.

I visited 8/24/25 @ around 4pm. My wife and I took a empty table after waiting by the door for about 5min (they were slammed, so it made sense they didn't have the bandwith to seat). After looking over the menu I went to the bar and ask if we ordered at the bar or if we should wait at the table (there was 3 other groups that had come in after we did), I was informed we ordered at the bar. After I was told we order at the bar I informed the gentleman we were ready and started telling them our ordered, he was making eye contact as I order the drinks and part of the 1st food request and he walked away. He went to the other end of the bar and took 2 of the 3 that entered in after we did. Then he cashed out a tab and came back to where I was standing (thinking he circled back to me I asked if we could put in the order and he smiled and started taking the order of the 3rd couple. After he took their order I spoke up a bit and said we were ready to place a order, again he looked at me and walked off.
We put the menus back on the table and found a different place to dine.
As a Hawthorne native for over 40 years I am bummed, this is not our community vibe.

Great food and fast service even when the bartender is running the kitchen too.

This is a very nice great place to come visit lounge order food eat drink everyone is polite if you looking for Chicago style this is it

Best coney Island hot dogs this side of New York

Good dogs and fries. I like the laid back, dive bar atmosphere. Expect to pay Portland / NY prices though

I hadn’t been at Nick’s in 15 years or so. Better vibe now. Mac salad is great and not as red as I remember. Coney dogs are the Best !!!!!

The Coney is wonderful! So are the locally made hot dogs. Nick is always there and a super friendly

One of my favorite bars in the NW. Very relaxed atmosphere and only rad people work here. This is THE place I go to grab a good dog and a pint while I'm in the area. The history on the walls really adds to the experience too. There's even pinball in the back. Prices are more than fair for what you get. I'll always recommend this place to anyone that is within spitting distance.
