cool aesthetic and vibe pretty snug diner food service was great but the food wasnt so great. Its a small old school diner so it makes sense but the food just wasnt that good it didnt feel like my mother made it or feel like a nice restraunt it felt like someone got frozen fast food style food and put it together on a plate with good presentation

Well, the working class vibe is the same as always, if slower. But with tip, a burger, fries, and a couple of IPAs cost $40. And that's not tariffs talking, as all of it was domesticly sourced. Idk why it's so ridiculous, but it is. Lunch out isn't worth that. Except for the Twilight Room, every other similar place in N Portland would be close to half that price.

Night Hawk Cafe and Lounge absolutely nails the classic diner vibe — from the cozy booths to the warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly feels like home. But let’s talk about that breakfast — absolutely spectacular!

The chicken fried steak was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had — crispy on the outside, tender inside, and smothered in the perfect amount of creamy gravy. Paired with their perfectly cooked home fries (crispy, golden, and addictive), it was a breakfast dream. And the coffee? Hot, bold, and just what you need to kickstart your morning.

Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Whether you’re craving comfort food or just want a great start to your day, Night Hawk delivers. Definitely a new favorite!

Delicious classic diner food. The coffee was excellent, mimosas were strong, pancakes were from scratch and the breakfast burger was killer!
Prices were a bit high but it's Portland in 2025
I would recommend this restaurant and hope to visit again one day
