We arrived without a reservation, and the restaurant was bustling with activity. Despite the crowd, we were promptly seated at the bar, which turned out to be the best decision of the evening. From start to finish, the service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and genuine.
The cocktails were expertly crafted, each sip a perfect balance of flavor and creativity. The food was nothing short of extraordinary—every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly made with the utmost care and fresh ingredients.
What truly stood out was the atmosphere: warm, welcoming, and effortlessly accommodating. We left not only feeling well-fed but genuinely valued as guests. Be forewarned: they charge you an automatic service fee, which is fine, but then there’s the option of an additional tip. I didn’t add another tip because of the built-in service charge but the server tipped herself $20 anyway, even though I never signed the additional tip, and had dispute it with credit card company. Check your statement.

Food was totally mediocre - service was low tier - oh here’s your overpriced food bill and tack on 22% for the lazy lousy service - if you want to pay your workers higher give them a higher wage out of your profit margins not mine -

I recently visited Nostrana to celebrate my birthday with friends, and overall, the experience was mixed. The service was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and prompt, which made for a pleasant start to our evening. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a special occasion.
The food was, for the most part, very good. The appetizers and sides were flavorful and satisfying, and I was looking forward to my main course. However, my experience took a disappointing turn when my roasted chicken arrived. Upon cutting into it, I was alarmed to find that the chicken was still pink in the middle. It looked undercooked, which completely killed my appetite. I called the server over, and when I mentioned the issue, he told me it was "normal" and that the chef was aware of it. While I can understand a rare or pink steak, chicken should be fully cooked for safety reasons. I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
On top of that, there was an automatic 22% tip added to the bill. Given the price of the meal—my roasted chicken alone was $36—I didn’t feel that I received the quality of food I expected, especially when it came to something as basic as cooking the chicken properly.
In conclusion, while the atmosphere and service at Nostrana were excellent, my meal was a letdown, especially considering the price. I hope this was just an isolated incident, but it left a negative impression, and I’ll think twice before returning.

A Portland classic! Great place for yummy seasonally rotating food selection and fantastic cocktails! Also have an extensive wine selection of that's more your vibe. Service is always friendly and attentive. ALSO make sure to get the affogato for dessert, one of the best in PDX!
