Ox is one of our absolute favorite restaurants, especially for a date or a special celebration. The service is impeccable. So fun, so quick, so professional. They clearly work as a team. The food is always 10/10. We try to order a different thing or two each time and it's always so good. I am gluten free and it's the easiest thing to eat there. I told our main server and everyone knew when they brought out food or bonuses from the chef without me having to tell them too. Most of the menu is or can be made gluten free. I highly recommend this restaurant!

On a cold winter night there isn't anything better than great food and a fire. I love that the Santa Maria is on full display. Food was amazing and every staff member who talked to us was kind and personable. We will be back for sure.

My friend and I had warm house made sesame baguette bread, fresh Clam Chowder with smoked marrow bone, green onion, jalapeño, toasted garlic breadcrumbs, and Beef Rib-eye steak* 16 oz and a bottle of Escudo Rojo Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon (2023). It is a highly-regarded "New World" wine produced with a heavy influence of French wine making. This wine is produced by Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile. Everything was outstanding.

Such a special experience. The staff are knowledgeable and warmly hospitable. Our server gave great recommendations and we thoroughly enjoyed every sip and bite.

Wow! It was really outstanding in all areas. Only problem was that I was too full for dessert. I could wish they were open for lunch sometimes as my schedule would allow that a lot more.

My wife's skirt steak left something to be desired. Paper thin. An obvious kitchen oversight. My pork chop was decent. The spaghetti squash was also very good though topped with way too much parm, if there is such thing. Nice bottle of Malbec and cocktails were on point. Will return someday but probably order differently. The oysters were probably the star of the night. $400 for a night out in Portland the Malbec carving $135 out of that.

Food is over the top good. Best steak in town. The Little noodle like gnocchi was amazing.

We have been back to OX several times in the last six months. Always excellent food, fun staff, great vibe. On this specific night (a Thursday, mid January) table service was a tiny bit slow, but by no means intolerable. It was a busy night with no empty tables. Overall, we love OX and return regularly. Great place!!

I took my brother for his birthday and I had my 3 year old toddler with me, and they charged me for a small ice tea that they put in a toddler cup for my son, and the tea was so bitter. I asked for some sweetener or syrup or something and they supposedly put some in, but it was still too bitter—couldn't tell a difference. I was really disappointed with the vegetables we ordered. For about $20 a plate, the carrots were full roasted/charred carrots like before, they were sliced and sweet (we really liked the roasted ones they had before), and the flash fried cauliflower was undercooked, so it still had that raw flavor and not the crispy sweet, roasted flavor, like it usually has. Those two dishes felt like a waste of money. The best dish was the coal roasted sea scallops, and the bone marrow chowder.

Still thinking about the ribeye we had. Excellent service. Very attentive. Drinks were also excellent. Lighting was just right and the open fire kitchen lovely to see. Warm, welcoming. The brought us a gift from the chef because we had to wait 15 for our table. Also they gave us a dessert on the house for our anniversary. It was A bit loud due to a big party seated next to us. And the seating is close, but it didn't bother us. Can't wait to go back!

Twice now I’ve eaten at Ox. I came back for the Clam Chowder with Smoked Bone Marrow as it left such a lasting impression. This time, we tried the Skirt Steak with the Radicchio & Romaine Salad. It was a 10/10! Most excellent meal. We also sat at the grille where all the steaks and chops were being prepared, and we loved feeling part of the process. Can't wait to bring family!
