I recently stopped by and ordered their House Special, and honestly—it was some of the best pho I’ve had in a long time. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, the kind that tastes like it’s been simmering all day. The portions were generous, packed with tender cuts of meat and fresh herbs that made every bite perfect.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. It’s the kind of spot that reminds you why pho is such a comfort food staple.

I’ll definitely be back. If you’re craving a bowl of pho that hits all the right notes, Pho 503 is absolutely worth the visit.

I’ll echo the same criticisms as previous customers on price, quality, and portion size. They don’t match. Eat here if you’re in the area and short on time. Otherwise, there’s tastier, better priced Vietnamese food. But I had a great experience with the service, considering I did get to-go. The restaurant is not cramped, nicely furnished and would be enjoyable to eat in.

I had the Bahn Mi. The meat was seasoned well, and the vegetables were standard, but the bread was stale and very low quality. Fred Meyers 2 day old baguette? If the bread had been better the whole sandwich would have been much better.

A hidden gem for beef pho! This is my favorite pho I’ve had in Portland. The noodles are always fresh and bouncy, broth is savory (not sweet) and delicious, and meats are of good quality. The broth is well balanced with warming spices (some places in town go way too hard on the warming spices which is not my fav). It’s never been packed when I go in for lunch but the food has always tasted very fresh and restaurant is clean. They have a $15 lunch special for all phos. Highly recommend if you need a bowl of pho!

Let’s be clear this place promises “rich and authentic flavors,” but deliver? More like a lukewarm betrayal served in a bowl

The ambiance: picture an aging noodle shop where the AC decided to call it quits mid-July. Yep, sweat is now a key ingredient in your broth

Service-wise, the liver-spotted waitress juggles it all solo, doing her best impersonation of an overworked circus actpredictably chaotic and borderline rude “in a friendly way”

And that “house special” pho that’s supposed to be the star? It shows up half-hearted with meat that’s as enthused about being there as you are. The broth whispers “meh” louder than it broths, and the noodles are either flaccid or willfully rebellious. And don’t expect that genuine, spine-warming pho more likely to get a bowl of apathy.

Let’s not forget the price tagPortland pho averages around $17 these days and trust me, you can do far better for that same dough elsewhere. There’s stiff competition: elsewhere folks rave about pockets of pho perfection in this city just not here.

Small portion, high price, low quality. Overall very underwhelming, though it is fast. Staff were friendly, but the food is mediocre at best, and the space has no air conditioning. Petty reply from owner, I've had much better and cheaper Vietnamese food several places in Portland all with larger portions. People giving 5 stars must be getting paid or have never had good Vietnamese food.

This was my first time coming to Pho 503 and the experience was absolutely amazing!! We had a nice warm welcome from the owner who was also our server. Her warm smile and sweet politeness helped make this good experience that much better!! The chicken pho that I ordered came hot and smelling with the best aroma! Each bite of the pho was to due for! Definitely will be coming back soon!! Highly recommend to friends and family.

I stopped by here several weeks ago and didn't have time to leave a review, but the food and the attitude from the staff was so poor. And the petty, strange and sarcastic response by the business is proof.
