Wow! An honest-to-goodness, delicious, healthy, authentic, home-cooked Vietnamese meal! Delightful! You will not leave hungry! The chef has a wonderful palette, she and her husband, proprietors, are lovely people! The dining experience is cozy, warm, comfortable, very pleasant! The non-alcoholic drinks menu expansive and excellent! I had the best avocado smoothie I've ever had! I'm making dining at Pho Hathanh a regular habit :)

Not 100% Northern style phở but it was amazing. I don't prefer eating phở outside the house. But, this restaurant has one of the best phở I've ever had. The broth was flavorful. It doesn't have that generic taste that you will typically have at most phở restaurants. The noodle makes the difference here. It is the correct phở noodle, not like the common one that most restaurants use. Highly recommended, especially on a rainy day. The only downside is the parking. But we were lucky with a parking pot right outside the restaurant. Would come back whenever visiting Portland.

Food okay, service was deplorable! Went in table for one, plenty of tables, yet hesitant to seat me at the one for two table next to a family. Food was okay. Upon leaving the man called me 'sir' THREE times. I'm a Black woman, so that felt racist to me. I'll not be returning,and I will tell all I know of my experience.

⭐️⭐️ Disappointing Experience Despite the High Rating
Sadly, there’s no handicapped parking or accessible entry. The restaurant is up a set of stairs, which makes it difficult for anyone with mobility issues or in a wheelchair (we had 3 persons with mobility issues). The language barrier made it hard to communicate, and a few of our orders were mixed up — including a Pho bowl brought out that we didn’t order.
It’s a very small seating area, but I’m glad I called ahead for our party of eight. The kids loved their Pho bowls, but two chicken dishes were a bit dry. We also had to flag someone down for a missing dish, which didn’t arrive until some of us were already finished eating.
We were honestly surprised considering the 4.9 rating, which is what made us choose this place. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the reviews.

We came here for lunch as we were in the area. Its a nice cozy place that makes you feel like eating at home. We ordered an assortment of items to share - potsickers, salad rolls, bun cha, northern style beef stew w/banh mi, special banh mi, and shaking beef. The food came out pretty quickly which was nice. The server was very polite and quick to get us anything we needed. My favorite out of the items we ordered was the special banh mi. The bread was nicely toasted and the banh mi had some substance in it. I thought the shaking beef could have a bit more char on the meat and more flavor in the meat for the bun cha.

Delicious pho! Beefy soup and the best pickled garlic to cut through the fat in the broth perfectly. The north fried spring rolls were great too! Crisp, paper thin wrapper and well seasoned pork.
Treat yourself on a cold day and you won't regret it!

got myself a Vietnamese iced coffee. It was very mediocre flavor, tasted like a mocha. But the one star is because I got 6oz of liquid and 10oz of foam. It was a kid who made my drink and another employee walking them the process of the drink. They were kind but the drink was definitely not worth it.
