I ordered three orders of crispy rolls and let them know that in the past they’ve only given us two sauces so I wanted to make sure we had three so everyone had a dipping sauce. When I got there to pay for the order, the person who would be taking my money continued setting tables while my food sat on the counter. Once I got home, I saw each of the containers didn’t have a third of a container full. I paid $41 for three appetizers, it isn’t too much to provide the sauce that should go with it. I called and was told that’s what it’s supposed to be.

Their bowls were dirty... so of course I wanted to let them know. They were not happy about that I noticed. I heard the mutter that I was rude in front of my face!

When I mentioned to the waitress, she said it wasn't dirty, it was from fish sauce from before. So I rubbed it off clean with my fingers to show it to her. She still didn't acknowledge it and insisted I was wrong when there were clear stains inside the empty bowl.

Then, when my party of 4 were waiting for our food and drinks, they brought out 3 straws and 3 napkins for us.
I guess, they were trying to cut costs or wanted us to bear their lack of service.

Then when I asked for lemon for water, they charged me for it and didn't ask me before if I still wanted it since they charged for it.

The food was okay, nothing special compared to other pho places on 82nd ave.
Definitely over priced ($18/ pho bowl) and it had a lot more MSG than normal.

Dirty plates, upcharges for pety things like lemon water, rude waitress service, I won't be giving them future business.

I miss the OG owner.

I won't be coming back here.

Horrible experience.

Oh MAN! Pho Van is absolutely amazing! I’ve lived 2 blocks a from this restaurant for 11 years and I’ve never been until today. DO NOT let the dreaded 82nd Avenue vibe deter you from visiting this place. Pho Van is a top notch Vietnamese restaurant with stellar food, fast service and beautiful decor. The place is very well maintained and rivals some of the top Vietnamese restaurants in my old neighborhood in San Francisco. This is a MUST if you’re looking for excellent Pho, delicious vermicelli and some of the best fresh spring rolls I’ve ever had! DELICIOUS!!

2 out of the 3 employees working there were rude! It was the red head waitress who was rushing us to finish eating. It was so disrespectful from her part. She was being rascist towards my family and I. Beside her customer service the food was great.

This is genuinely one of the best restaurants that portland has to offer. The atmosphere is amazing with their giant live plants all throughout the dining area, it is always so lovely to spend time here. The food is so very delicious and (I may be mistaken) is more authentic (less driven by an american palate) than you will likely see else where. Lastly the service is consistent and has always been quite capable and prompt every time I've visited.

I love this restaurant!! The first thing I noticed was the tranquil music that set the relaxing, peaceful vibe, which was exactly what I needed. The lighting is soft and pleasant. The menu is extensive but not excessive (like some Asian restaurants). I ordered the lemongrass chicken with rice and fish sauce. It is so fragrant and scrumptious with quite generous portions of chicken and rice. My mother ordered the ginger chicken with rice and green beans. She did not receive the same generous portion, and my mother thought it was overkill on the ginger and garlic. I don't like ginger so I didn't sample it. She sampled mine and wished she had ordered the same as I did. For me, the only problem was they forgot my avocado shake, and it was difficult to get the attention of someone to request it. When I did receive it, it was like drinking heaven - creamy, smooth, so tasty!!

It's been ages since I've been back to this location. This location has plenty of parking and the interior is spacious and very inviting. I liked that there were plants well positioned and natural light as well. I ordered the #1 (without tripe) and an iced vietnamese coffee. The coffee was pretty strong, but it gave me the boost I needed for the day. The pho was good (slightly salty for my preference), but also food is job of filling me up most of the day.
