Great cocktails!

The food was not bad and the drinks were very strong but the service was awful. It was just me and my partner and we thought it would be a good idea to open a tab but our server failed to mention the almost $100 fee for this on our $30 order. Now I have to wait up to 3 days to get my money back or I have to call if they don’t give it back by then. I wouldn’t have minded the fee but she was very rude about it when I asked about it and why it wasn’t disclosed to me beforehand. I’ve never been to a bar that has an outrageous open tab fee with such rude service. Sticking to places that just hold the card on file from now on to avoid this.

Update: I still haven’t received a refund and every time I call, no one answers which means I would need to drive 2 hours to go in and talk with them. I do not recommend this place.

Very cute place with small bites and affordable cocktails. They have some of the best charred carrots anywhere in town, but I also really love the sliders, both the mini burgers and the fries chicken on Hawaiian rolls.

Anytime I'm meeting friends for a few little drinks I suggest this place.

The cocktails here are great, and the atmosphere is nice.As tourists, we had a good time at first, but everything changed when we checked our bank statements later. My friend noticed that the amount charged was far higher than the price listed on the menu. After calculating, we realized a tip of over 50% had been added without our consent. We all checked our statements, and everyone had been charged well beyond the menu prices — it was shocking.

What made this worse was that after ordering, the bartender took our credit cards without showing us any details on the card machine. We never saw any numbers on the terminal, nor did she ask if we wanted a receipt. We all assumed that we would sign for the card and pay the tip when leaving. Instead, it seems like our signatures were forged, and a hefty tip was added without our permission.

To be honest, if the tip had been 20%, we might not have questioned it. But over 50%? This feels like theft!

Later, when we asked another staff member about the extra charge, he asked if we had chosen a tip and signed for it. We explained that the bartender never gave us an option for the tip amount, and we never received a receipt or signed anything. He then tried to explain that the charge was still “pending” because we hadn’t tipped yet, even though our bank records showed that the transaction was completed. He also asked if we wanted to tip, saying the “pending” status would disappear once we did. When he showed us the card machine with the correct menu price, he emphasized that the minimum tip was 18%, and people usually give 20%. This felt incredibly disrespectful — as if they assumed we, as foreigners, wouldn’t tip properly. Combined with the behavior of the first bartender, this made us feel very uncomfortable. No apology was offered, and we were even questioned about tipping. I couldn’t help but wonder if this was racial discrimination.

After choosing a tip and signing the receipt, I noticed that my previous transaction was canceled, and the correct amount was charged. There was no “pending” status, which makes the explanation from the other staff member seem unconvincing.

I later found similar complaints from other tourists in their Google reviews, where people had been charged unauthorized tips as well.

To all foreign or out-of-town visitors: please be extra cautious and check your bills carefully. This kind of behavior is unacceptable!

Everything is good, but what I want to say is why their bartenders would take the initiative to collect 20% tips from customers without the consent of the customers. This is a very disrespectful behavior to customers. Do we still need to go to a store that does not know how to respect customers? And I believe this is not the first time they have done this.

I got scammed at this bar. The bartender took my credit card without letting me choose the tip amount. At first I even wondered if they just didn’t do tipping here. But when I checked my statement, I saw they had charged me 50% extra. The bartender literally tipped herself 50%! That’s straight-up fraud. Beware if you're not local they probably scam the tourists!

Pink Rabbit can feel like two different bars depending what time you go. If you go early, it’s a super chill place to hang and enjoy awesome cocktails.

If you go later (after 9?) it’s more like a club, loud, packed, and a very different vibe.

Drink wise the cocktails are excellent and reasonably priced. Food is good too. Personally, one of my favorites was the Paloma.

If you’re young and hip, it’s a dope spot to check out. If you’re older or not into loud places with the younger crowd, go earlier.

The staff were super awesome and attentive. Not sure how they managed it with how busy it was.

The Pink Rabbit is your standard issue cocktail bar for the city Portland. This place stands out in my mind because they do standard issue to a T. The place wasn't super crowded, but it was full. That didn't slow down the drink service, though. I didn't have any food, but my friends who accompanied me did, and they had zero complaints. In fact, they didn't say much of anything while they were eating, so the food must have been on point. So if you get the chance, drop on by the Pink Rabbit, you won't regret it.

Bartender was rude about not having a physical menu, was irritated that I asked for one. Usually service here is excellent, but after being talked down to, I am turned off to this place.
