Wanted to check out the chicken at Pollo Norte because I wanted chicken that wasn’t fried for a change (and maybe a little healthier too). The quarter bird over cabbage was disappointing. Dark meat doesn’t have any excuse to be anything less than dripping juicy, but the leg and thigh here was not that. The seasoning on the skin was just fine. The bed of cabbage under the chicken was mushy and forgettable. The Cole slaw I actually quite enjoyed as it was fresh and bright.

Wow. I knew that I would like this joint, but it actually blew mine and my wife's pants off!With a moist bird, sauces that compliment each other perfectly, several tasty sides, cozy ambiance, and fast, friendly service, I have no reason not to give Pollo Norte a PERFECT five-star rating. The prices? Extremely fair, as well.I'm happy I took a day off to visit the Kerns neighborhood. With several amazing places to grab a bite to eat, Pollo Norte should be at the very top...
