Amazing atmosphere and outstanding service by our server Taviana. They were prompt, courteous and very attentive to our needs. The food is to DIE for! Had the PoGrits and partner had bacon breakfast burrito, knocked them out of the park!!! Can't state enough how great Taviana was, they deserve a raise and a paid vacation! 100/10 recommend and will be back with more for more. P.S. Music selection was on fire!
I wish I had taken a picture but the food was gone too fast! It was SO delicious and the customer service is somehow better than the food!
I love this place! Best catfish sandwich in town
Family run with great food . We had 4 people for brunch, Each of us had a different dish and all delicious. Would definitely go back
Had the Louisiana breakfast, it was really well done, fantastic gravy. Someone had the grits and also said really good. Another had a shrimp po boy sandwich and it was also praised.
Food was good, some items needed seasoning, ribs were delicious, fried chicken and fried okra needed seasoning and salt, food was very good overall. The service was polite but a bit over attentive, she was nice enough. We came to dinner at 7ish we were the only ones there. Others who left reviews said very small portions , I found the portions fine . The Iced tea tasted off. The sweet tea was good though. Overall I'd give it a 4.3 .
The food is pretty good, service was good, staff was kind. The only issue I had was the racist posters in the bathroom. I understand they are historical or whatever but I'm sure it offends a lot of customers or makes them uncomfortable.
This was my first time dining here. The service was excellent, and the good was fresh and tasty.
The best Soul Food in Portland! The sweet tea brought back memories of neighbors pouring me a glass on hot summer evenings. The collard greens will make even the pickiest kid eat their vegetables. The BBQ is perfection. I can't eat BBQ at most places because they just don't get it right! The black-eyed peas and rice reminded me of sitting at Big Mama's kitchen counter after school and chatting about everything while she made dinner for her family. The sweet potato pie is quite literally the best I've ever had. I've never met a sweet potato pie that I didn't like, but this stuff is what dreams are made of! The service was excellent. There aren't many places anymore where they all introduce themselves and talk about recipes passed down by their great-grandmother, or having a barbecue when their favorite uncle brought over the latest meat he had come across, and their mom instinctively knew the best ways to season it. We will be back again and again and dreaming about it until the next time!
Great food!! Takes a min but what GREAT FOOD doesn’t?? Well seasoned and friendly staff ILL BE GOING BACK!! With more folks !!!

Hands down my favorite place to eat in Portland. The food is not only delicious, but very clean. They don't over oil or salt anything, but it's still flavorful and rich. You can eat a full meal and not feel bloated or lethargic.
The staff are very friendly and professional. Despite moving away months ago, they still remembered our names and orders.
It's a must stop any time I'm down in Portland.
Red beans and rice avoid. It's 99% blan beans and an unnoticeable amount of instant rice.
Sweet potato's are good though
