It’s different now. The customer service has always been hit or miss here, hence the 3 stars. The guy that helped me this morning was really nice though. I feel like inflation is hitting this place like many others because I don’t remember a breakfast sandwich costing $8. They used to be overflowing with cream cheese, and the bacon was thicker than a snicker. My bacon sandwich was still delicious and I could tell it was made with care even though the quality feels different.

You have essentially a 30% chance of getting the food you ordered. We have eaten here 20-30 times because it's close and convenient, and at minimum two thirds of the time the order is wrong or missing additions. The bagels are good quality, and the bagel sandwiches are very tasty, but it's simply not worth rolling the dice on whether or not you're going to get what you ordered.
It's a shame as this is a good spot, but skip this cart if you want to eat the food you ordered. Sadly it's finally time never patronize this cart again.
EDIT 2/22/25: Our friends went despite the reputation, ordered a $3 cookie which, no surprise here, did not make it into the order. It's a complete joke.

Been coming to puddletown for a couple of years as we’re in the neighborhood and it’s convenient…I think we’ve finally reached the point where it makes sense to get a bagel elsewhere. The frequency of getting the wrong order is wildly high. It’s something we’ve always kind of grumbled about but rolled with. Getting two $8 breakfast sandwiches that are bone dry, however, is an absolute affront to bagel eaters and is surely the final straw for us. Maybe the non-cart locations are different, but we’re done trying to make this work. My NJ family would faint if they saw us eating these…come on. You can do better!

My daughter and I popped into the food carts to get a drink. This cart was the only one open so we walked up to the window. The woman did not greet us, she was visibly upset we were there and told us (without asking if we were ordering food) that it would be a 30 minute wait if we were to order food. I informed her we only wanted a drink. She VISBILY rolled her eyes. Clearly her MO to get us to leave hadn't worked. When asked what flavored Italian sodas they had, she said "it's on the menu". Now, the whole food truck is a menu so it took us awhile to find where the flavors were with no help or direction from the worker. We finally located it and placed our order. Fine. I don't rattle easy and it was too damn early to be so mad (9:30 am on a Wednesday). While we waited for our drink, another customer walked up very cheerfully. Again, the worker said food would be a 30 minute wait without inquiring what the customer wanted. Again, in a dismissive and rude tone. The customer informed her she was there to pick up an order she had placed. The worker didn't say a WORD and placed a bag on the counter. The woman stood there and finally asked if that was her order? The worker just responded with a condescending tone "it's a pick up order, isn't it?". The customer grabbed the bag and said, "have a better day" then looked at us and greeted us warmly, as we did her.
Look, I don't know what's going on in that staff members life, and it could be really that terrible, but that is no way to run a business. I have never felt more like someone was intentionally trying to goat me into confrontation. I felt terrible for the other customer that was clearly having a great day and then having to walk into that. Gross, gross behavior. Do better.

Showing up when they open might not be advised. They where late to open. They had online orders to make before anyone waiting in person so almost an hour wait. Would be wise to just show up an hour later. Foods fine.

One of the better breakfast options when you can get it. Randomly closes early, randomly turns away orders.

I am so disappointed that I have to write this review.
Taste wise, these are currently my favorite bagels in Portland.
Service has gone down hill horribly due to the app that I was forced to order through and no phone service.
The app got my order wrong by giving it to the incorrect location. (This was not the first time the app got things wrong or didn't have necessary options. It is also more expensive! ) This is the most egregious.
I very intentionally clicked on the montevilla food cart pod puddletown bagels because I know there are multiple locations nowhere near me.
First, the app wouldn't let me make the mocha soy. Nor give any additional instructions to make the vegetarian meats extra well done, so I called to have them manually change that so they wouldn't have to remake our food when we got there.
They wouldn't answer my phone call and then answered but kept it off the hook.
When we got to the Montvilla food cart pod puddletown. Our order wasn't there and we figured out it had been sent to the wrong location. At this point, learning learning from the workers that bad online reviews are the most meaningful way to get in touch with the owners to file a complaint, which is awful, made us late to work and hungry.
The easiest and fastest way to order is by phone. My sweetie and I have timed this because it is such a high priority to us. It takes 5 minutes or less to order through a phone call, where our orders have always been correct. It takes 8 minutes or more on the app that has literally gotten our orders wrong every. single. time.
On top of that, I do not have a clear way to demand a refund for the app messing up because no one is answering any of the phone lines and there is no email contact. So if the owners don't respond to this, I'll just have to put a stop payment on my credit card, which are all measures that are completely avoidable and awful business choices on puddletown's side.
We miss Ty. She is awesome and none of this was an issue when she was at the Montavilla food cart pod Puddletown. Y'all also made a lot more money from us - we used to order up to 3x a week. Now, we go weeks without because of horrible service and forced app use.
Today was by far the worst.
Vegetarian options: They upcharge on the app

Never open. Too inconsistent
Super dissatisfied! I ordered two breakfast bagels and two coffees the total I was $38.00 which is not cheap. I payed extra for tomato on my bagel just to receive none! The two coffees were undrinkable it’s like they added a whole bottle of syrup in each! I don’t know a single person who can handle that much sweetness not even toddlers. It’s such a shame because the bagel itself was delicious. If it weren’t for these two very big things it would be a 10/10 but unfortunately they missed the mark. I genuinely regret even spending my money; the coffee had to be poured out.

$4.75 for a toasted bagel with butter? It wasn't even hot when I finally got it. Add to the overpriced bagel was the terrible atmosphere. All I heard inside the food cart was bickering and whining by one of the employees. I won't be back to this place.

Absolutely amazing bagels!! Even the day old ones are fab! Quick service even when slammed !! My favorite bagels outside of Brooklyn NY where I am from :)Parking may be tricky. Wendy’s next door is preferable to the neighborhood near by as their need those spots:)Would love to see a limited addition or limited time spreads.. which may be easier to manage than the bagels. A vanilla cream cheese might just short of heaven on your sea salt bagels for my ridiculously silly tastes !!!Any and either and all ways - go get yourself a carb wonderland Puddletown bagel at any location !!!!!!
