The House Vegetarian Sampler included 10 different foods served on injera. There was a variety of ingredients and spiciness. The server removed our dishes when we were finished, but then didn't return with the bill. There was only one other table of customers and they had already received their food. We waited quite a while before deciding to pay at the register, but the server wasn't there. We waited a long time before knocking on a door. They were cleaning the kitchen! So we would have been waiting even longer for them to finish if we hadn't asked to pay. The food was good, but it was an annoying end to the dinner.
This is a slept on Portland classic one of the original African restaurants in Portland. I went here for the first time when I was 12 in the kind staff greeted me and treated me to an amazing meal that I will never forget.

Delicious food, beyond compare. We ordered the veggie combo plate for two and some lamb and it was all to-die-for. The place itself was wonderfully quiet, no kitchen noise or noise from diners scooting their chairs around or anything like that.

I've tried other Ethiopian restaurants in Portland, but none of them are quite as good as Queen of Sheba.

I just want to tell you that my experiences at the restaurant were amazing. Unfortunately, I do not live in Portland anymore. I tell tails of my experiences at your establishment. Nothing but perfection and when I return I will be coming by. Thank you very much

When a place of business says they open at 5 PM you expect the doors to be unlocked and for someone to be there to greet you. When we arrived, The door was locked. We waited for a few minutes to see if anyone would come out then we called and a very rude woman told us she wasn’t ready to open and hung up on us so as we sat there in the cold trying to decide where we were going to go to have dinner. She finally comes to the door and her energy was just bad… Like how dare you show up to my place of business at the time I say I’m going to open it and expect it to actually be open???? In any case I will not be back and I’m very disappointed as I was really looking forward to trying Ethiopian Food for the first time. Customer service is part of owning your small business and if you can’t provide that….Shame on you.

I’ve been going to Queen of Sheba for over a decade. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I ate there twice a week. My daughter, who is now twelve, can’t get enough of their veggie platter and chicken tibs. It’s a special place run by a sweet family, one of the coziest spots in Portland.
Been a patron since the late 90s. This is the OG and community hub of gathering, food and culture. A must visit in Portland
Our favorite Ethiopian restaurant. We lived around the corner on Knott Street. Now visiting Portland. We love the big portions sample platter. We add chicken alicha. It's plenty for two people. We also get extra injera. So good!
