Excellent service with yummy tasting food. Lots of vegetarian options. The owner was very friendly and patiently explained the dishes to us. Reasonable price and large portion size. A must visit place :)

Make a reservation! We went in a Friday night and it was only one server (possibly an owner). We were a group of 7 and she was appreciative that we had called a few days ahead. She scolded a group of 5 who had not made a reservation who arrived with us at opening. We shared two large plates (chef's choice) and everything was super yummy! We want to go back. Being cash because she was too busy to write up a bill and we had to chase her down and add it up ourselves in the end. ;). The furnishings are a bit run down but it didn't detract from the experience. Street parking onlyVegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options.

The vegetarian platter for two was wonderful! The cabbage dish was excellent. Our server worked extremely hard on a busy night in the restaurant. This place makes for a fun, unique date night!

Exactly what we wanted. Had some sides we haven't had elsewhere, and they were all yummy! Lighting wasn't exactly relaxing, but for a small business I won't be too picky. Would go again!

So my husband, son and I have been coming here for almost 25 years and while I am no longer greeted by the brothers I can tell you that the food HAS changed. I am extremely disappointed in the Yodero Wet sauce which now has been deluted with vinegar. I realize that it must be difficult to run a business on her own but when the quality of the food is compromised I can't be a customer. I would highly recommend that they focus on bringing back the highest quality of food, like they did 25 years ago.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone, especially people who wants to experience the authentic Ethiopian food and culture. The restaurant is old, filthy. The food taste gross. The service was not as expected. The menu is a pice of paper, which made me wonder the efforts they put to attract customers.

This restaurant has been here since we moved to Portland in 2006, though I think it's been here for far longer. It's definitely worth a try though weekdays are quieter so might be better for a first time. Also they have trouble with large parties, so call ahead to check.

Delicious!!! Affordable, nothing fancy, just good food. Highly recommend this family business.

My friend brought me here years ago for a delicious meal and I've come back numerous times. A very unpretentious atmosphere - one side of the restaurant looks like a comfortable living room and the other side is brightly lit with a bar. The food is yummy and the hostess is always friendly to me.

Truly good food with large portions. The place is small and there was only one person working there that evening, so service took a bit. Still, it was very much worth the experience and it's obvious that this place was loved by the locals.
