This review is actually from November 2013. But I have only got around to writing now. I do so hope the restaurant has made it through Covid okay. My friends and I were talking about an amazing Sunday we spent there and it reminded me that I'd love to post. We sat at the bar having a lovely lunch with my three friends, we are all Brits but two my friends live permanently in US with their wives. We do a trip wine tasting, cycling, hanging out as we only get to see each other once a year. We've be doing it for about 20 years, so it is a special trip for us. We sat watching the NFL on the TV for so long that when we realised we had come for a game of pool the restaurant was closing for the afternoon. We explained that each year we have a competition where two of us challenge the other two (normally it's things like Bocce ball in Napa say) and each year we keep up the score. This year we decided pool as this place has one table. The person running the bar said 'no problem, you go up stairs to the table, we'll leave you a bucket of beers and we'll lock up and be back at 5pm to let you out'. Needless to say not only did we have a wonderful and unforgettable experience but we were so amazed that having only met them a couple of hours before they trusted us with the bar! I do so hope they are still around - if not we'd just like to say a belated thank you,

I have yet to dine on the first floor but I love heading upstairs to the Rookery for a nice casual atmosphere and drinks. Their cocktails are very lovely. They have a pool table and a fireplace. There is also a nice little section with just sofas and big comfy chairs. The service from the staff is lovely and professional but not stuffy. I recently brought friends by here for drinks on my birthday and everyone enjoyed it.

Social distancing review: Got take out corned beef dinner for St Patty's day, and it was so delish! The spices were perfect! They also had a wine list, so we got a bottle too. The folks there said they'd keep doing takeout, and posting a menu each day, so it's a great way to support our corner restaurant during these crazy days.

Very rarely do you take a bite out of something and pause and slow down the chewing to enjoy it. I can still taste it a few hours later. It was memorable. Try to pork shank, you will not regret it....

Exceptional food and atmosphere !!!! I met up with a friend, and we had a blast chatting, listening to music, and enjoying their cocktails and food!! I ordered the risotto, fries, and got a Moscow mule. Everything was perfect. Portion sizes are small, and I can eat a lot.

We had lunch reservations on Valentine's day. We arrived, were seated, ordered, and had our food in less than 45 min. The service was professional on all levels. Every meal but mine seemed to have extremely generous portions. This is the only negative commit I can conjure and my dissapointment only comes because I would have loved more of the meal. However, the culmination of our lovely experience was in the form of a cup of butterscotch pudding as dessert. The quality of any previous entree became entirely and immediately inconsequential with the first bite of this heavenly mixture of cream, caramel, and pudding. In short, we will definitely be returning, and I would recommend the Raven & Rose to any seeking a great dining experience.

Raven & Rose is a delightful place for a meal and my husband and I have enjoyed every experience. With a great attention to detail and delicious cuisine, and an amazing staff, most especially General Manager Derek, it is a new Portland standard.

Went there for Valentines, they had a 5 course menu, small portions, but oh boy were they delicious!!! 1000 stars. Planning to come back for a regular menu.

As a first time visitor to Portland, I was thoroughly impressed with this local favorite! The ambiance and service was superb. In town for a brief work trip, one of my coworkers advised that we dine here and so glad we did. Everythin single thing we ate was AMAZING! I had the Braised Pork Shank, which was tender and full of flavor. My counterparts had the Grass-fed Venison and West Cork Rabbit. Being a picky eater, I was initially apprehensive to try their dishes. However, 5 minutes into dinner we were all sharing bites across the table. I truly enjoyed my dinning experience and actively planning my next visit in town to this restaurant

Came here for my girlfriend's birthday and had a wonderful time. The live music was lovely and the bartender was really nice. We can't wait to come back!

Incredible breakfasts here! The Full English Breakfast is full of rustic flavor and is perfect comfort food. Oh...and Donut Muffins.

Love this place. We went there most recently before seeing The Nutcracker over the holidays at the Keller, and I will take my daughters there again before going to see Cinderella in a few weeks. Perfect cute place, conveniently located, and good food for kids and adults alike.

$$$$ This is where the upper-crust of Portland comes to dine. And with good reason. Everything they make here is superb. The drinks are delicious with access to some of the rarest whiskeys and bourbons. The atmosphere of the old-timey pub is great. If I was bringing important guests or business clients in from out of town and wanted to impress them with Portland's finest, I would definitely take them here. Would happily come again.
