We went there and ordered food for the first time, and I asked for brisket and a played me and gave me roast beef like I wouldn’t know the difference. The ribs still had the membrane on it the hush puppies with burnt overall experience I’m never going back. With those prices you guys she will be honest about to be at your serving.

**This is WORST BBQ I’ve EVER had. Period. The positive reviews are from YEARS AGO! Look at the recent reviews!!**I ordered the $45 5 meat sampler. Big mistake! It gave me the opportunity see how badly they cook BBQ here. The meat was either mushy(Brisket, Pulled pork) or dry (Ribs). Catfish was undercooked and slimy. The runny and flavorless baked beans tasted worse than cheap store brand canned beans. The meat barely had any sauce on it and they didn’t give me any extra sauce(had to ask for it).The cornbread was dry and lacked flavor. This was the first time I’ve threw away this much food. Will never return here. I’d rather go to Famous Dave’s 10/10 times than waste my money here.

Just ordered hush puppies and Mac n cheese. The worst hush puppies I have ever had. The my were dry, stale and practically burnt.

Stopped in 15 minutes before they closed. The service was great. I was greeted warmly and enthusiastically. My order was taken with no hiccups. My food was piping HOT BUT my Lord it was HORRIBLE?!! The greens were dry chewy and bland. The ribs were salty and over seasoned with very little sauce. The catfish was also salty and greasy. The fried okra greasy, charred and overly seasoned...giving it a salty taste. The hushpuppies?????? That was 90 bucks down the drain. A birthday dinner for my son gone TERRIBLY wrong.

Ordered a rack of ribs, a side of sweet potato fries and a salad. Really disappointed in the ribs. They were burnt and over smoked. This left the meat with a nasty bitter taste. For the price? I might as well have set fire to my 50.00!

Never tried them before, and they were closed a LONG time due to a fire. But they reopened.I was looking forward to trying them. Wasn't expecting much because of previous reviews, but still disappointed. I got 2 of their pulled pork sliders. Ate one walking home. Sooo dry. Maybe 1 tsp of BBQ sauce on top of overcooked meat. Very hard to build up enough saliva to eat it. When I got home, I put extra BBQ sauce on the 2nd slider. A little better, but meat still dry & tough. Indoor seating is still being worked on. ETA 2 months. There's a couple small tables outside with no cover. It's only been open a couple weeks, so maybe they're still working out the kinks. I'll give them another try in a few months.

I feel for theses guys. Understaffed and disorganized. This place could be good.

I really wanted to like this place. It's newly renovated, recently opened back up, and the giant smoker out front was a promising sign. They might be getting their bearings as a restaurant, but the $19 lunch plate I got was gross. A soup of BBQ sauce over brisket with no bark/texture. The fries were undercooked and exceedingly salty. Even the drink I had was beyond sugary, to the point of being really unpalatable.

They're back open!! I was surprised to see that today, but also I was hungry, so I popped in and got fried catfish, coleslaw, and fried okra.OUT. STANDING. So far the only place I've found in Portland that does Southern food right, and they've elevated it way past right. The okra was tender, light, and crispy, without being oily. The catfish was the same, with a perfect thin cornbread crust, and generous enough for a second meal. The slaw was served with its delicate, lightly sweet dressing on the side, so the very thinly-shredded cabbage could still be crisp on serving. So good. Even the tartar sauce is good. I don't like tartar on my fish, but this warrants repurposing in a potato salad tomorrow. Super excited for the hands-down best Southern food in Portland to be back with us. I'm gonna lie to my mom and tell her it's a meat 'n three so she'll let me take her there. I mean it's kinda a meat 'n three.Service was a very nice dude named "Bruno," and my food came out super fast.
