I've been in Portland for exactly 2 weeks and now have experienced my first shockingly shitty experience in this wonderful city! I walked in and the brunette at the door ignored me. She started walking fast as to avoid me so I stopped her and she was annoyed. I said what gives? She said sarcastically what do you want? I said I saw this place online and it looked cool and I had questions about the poker, pool and karaoke. She did shape up a bit when I called her out on it. But not a great first impression. Plus the bartender wasn't all that friendly either. One has to wonder if it was racial. As a Black man, we always have to wonder when we get this treatment. But I'm certainly not going to let this incident scar me from the rest of my PDX experience. I know the city as a whole has made tremendous strides distancing themselves from this sort of behavior.

Love this place but recently there cock roach problem is out of control. Was sitting at the bar and they were just running down the bar and on the floor in daylight so you know that they have a bad infestation which makes me not want to eat or drink there anymore so I go to river bar now instead and haven’t seen not 1 roach there

How they fit so much talent in such a beautiful atmospheric nook, I couldn't tell you but I can tell you the staff are a blessing and the bartender is a honest thoughtful delight that keeps the foundation tasteful.

Do not patronize this establishment. I entered late to play pool and ordered 1 beer. After visiting the karaoke bar next door where I had one beer I returned to the Rialto to play more pool. They would not give me balls saying I was intoxicated and the security guard escorted me out. Perhaps they should have a breathalyzer so they can test their customers alcohol level rather than randomly deciding a customer is intoxicated. I spoke to at least 6 people in the street who said you do not look the least bit intoxicated. This establishment should be investigated for violation of basic human rights. They are worse than trump. If you want to play pool go to Sam's billiards in NE Portland a welcoming spot that does not pass judgement on its patrons.

there are plenty of reasonably priced pool tables, friendly and attentive staff, and a really big horse painting. the high ceilings make the space feel very luxurious, but the relaxed and bright decor keeps it feeling casual.

We had a terrible experience last night. When we came in the bar tender Sara was visibly not pleased with our presence. we were out celebrating my friends 21st and Sara would barely acknowledge our presence and gave us our drinks in a very poor manner. We asked her to put us down for pool and she told us our wait time was about 4 people and gave us a number told us she’d find us when she had one available, this was about 9:30pm. We noticed others had been going ahead of us for a while and this was like 11:30pm. We went up and asked her how many more people were ahead of us and she said 6, we told her she said there was 4 people before. And she rudely and very snappy said “that’s impossible because I’m the one who took your order!” It was such a vibe kill and definitely not a place to recommend to other first time drinkers. I understand having bad days but being a grown ass woman and specifically targeting and being extra catty to a group of girls who are just trying to have a good time for a 21st celebration and don’t even know her is absolutely disgusting.
