Thai food made here is really great!
It's always fun to communicate with staff in their Thai vernacular.

Dietary restrictions: Many menu items are gluten free and others cater to vegetarians.

Parking: Check carefully as street parking changes frequently.

I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice (broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cashews, peas, raisins, and yellow onions in house sauce and curry powder) with tofu and no egg. It was a little bland, but I liked the variety of ingredients.

It’s slipping….
I have been going to Rice Thai Cookery for quite some time, but unfortunately it is not as good as it used to be. I ordered extra veggies with my tofu curry, but only got a couple of broccoli pieces. Also, on their online order interface there is a place for notes that gives examples (like extra peanut sauce - see my photo). I added a request for extra p.s. but it was not included in the bag and they didn’t say anything about it. When called and asked, they got very defensive and non-apologetic without resolving my concern. I was upset especially since I left a 20% tip on take out. The woman on the phone said I shouldn’t be upset about it instead of understanding why it was upsetting or trying to resolve my complaint. She dismissed my concerns and said it wasn’t a big deal. Of course I was upset! It might seem minor, but I feel like their customer interactions have really gone down hill. I have a friend that won’t go in here anymore for exactly this reason - she was treat unkindly. Their salad rolls are decent, but service and quality has diminished over the last year (2023-2024). Even their ps is not as good as it used to be…

Been going here for over a decade - family gets lots of take out. And while it’s one of our favorite eateries in Portland Metro, it seems to be trending the wrong way.
Recently have had several entrees that were just not up to snuff, not bad, but certainly not superb. We have also experienced our to go orders being incorrect as of late. Don’t want to stop spending our dollars here, but not sure how many more sub par experiences we are interested in. We are hoping bad experience just a fluke and RTC gets back to their GOAT status.

You can't use ingredients that aren't fresh and expect people to not be able to taste that. I ordered the peanut chicken with shrimp and right away I could tell the chicken was not fresh. You can't wash, cook, or spice away that taste off of the chicken.

We love this place. Always getting panang Curry chicken and pad Thai. But just had the ginger beef and that was also good. Service has been friendly and outstanding each time.

There red curry is my go to. Girlfriend got the Pad-Thai and said it was the best she has ever had. I want to try new things, but I can't get past my favorite dish...

Love this place for a quick bite at lunch is when I usually go. Love downtown Milwaukie and Rice Thai Cookery adds to the love. Great food. Good portions. Fast service and so kind. Good seating, although the bandwidth in the restaurant is slow and sometimes non-existent meaning you may have to talk to your person across the table.? take out is fast and packaged well and stays warm. I love the chicken pad Thai and love the peanut sauce. Parking is not great at busy times.
