The best meal and experience I've ever had in any restaurant, the food was amazing and the staff was excellent
Delicious steaks in a cozy environment. Kelly and her team gave us excellent service. Definitely worth coming to for a special occasion.
We have eaten at Ringside many times and this was the most disappointing experience we have ever had. Our reservation was for in the bar, we love sitting in the bar. We were sat 30 minutes after our reservation time due to the previous customers were taking longer than expected. They did try to make up for that with complimentary onion rings. The service was not at the typical level of service you normally receive at Ringside. Our first round of drinks took over 20 minutes to come. I never got my second drink at all. Our waitress never came to check that our food was good once we received it. Two of the steaks were overly salted and I like salt so for me to say that shocked my family. She dropped off dessert menus and then didn't come back for 15 minutes. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday, so yes we wanted dessert. It could have just been an off night for the server, bartenders, and the kitchen but nonetheless it was disappointing.
Sat in the bar area, at a dining table. Nicholas was server & very friendly, prompt, accurate & great. All service was wonderful. Dinner was outstanding, as usual for Ringside standard. We will revisit !!
My wife and I had an outstanding dinner at Ringside Steakhouse in Portland, and it lived up to every bit of its reputation. We split the bone-in ribeye, which was cooked perfectly—rich, flavorful, and easily one of the best steaks we've had. We started with the onion rings, which were crispy, light, and addictive, followed by a classic shrimp cocktail with fresh, firm shrimp and a great cocktail sauce. The French onion soup was another highlight—deep, savory flavor with a perfectly melted cheese topping. Everything we ordered was truly a 10 out of 10. The service was exceptional from start to finish—attentive without being overbearing—and the valet was a great touch that made the entire experience feel seamless and elevated. Ringside is a top-tier steakhouse and a must-visit in Portland. We'll absolutely be back.
Definitely worth the money! Food and service were amazing. I Highly recommend and encourage you to go!
The server Tyler was absolutely amazing. We came in for a birthday celebration as our first time here and will definitely be back. The bone in ribeye to share, lobster mashed potatoes, mushrooms and drinks were AMAZING!!!
The Ringside is reliably very good. Last night was no exception. The service was excellent. The steaks were up to their usual standard. A couple of our party had the cod and it was very good as well. Obviously it is not cheap, but there are not many restaurants in Portland that provide the same kind of experience as the Ringside.
Ringside is consistently excellent! One of our most favorite restaurants. Food and service are always top tier!
Being native Oregonians, the Ringside has always been a special treat for us. We weren’t sure if anything would’ve changed after the renovation. Fortunately, the best things did not change at all. The onion rings are still utterly delightful, crispy with the perfect Tang to the batter. Not greasy at all and a decadent treat. We had a baseball cut sirloin that was far more tender than the typical sirloin and very flavorful. Also a bone in New York, which did not disappoint with its richness and mouth feel. We treated ourselves to a bottle of Italian Amarone and it was a perfect compliment. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. You will not be disappointed if you hit this staple establishment up. Sometimes the classics are the best.

I ordered the Wagyu steak, and I can say without exaggeration that it was one of the finest preparations I’ve had anywhere — and I’m basing that against meals from some of the top restaurants I’ve visited around the world. The execution was exceptional, and the presentation was thoughtful and deliberate.
We asked the sommelier for a pairing, and the selection was spot-on; clearly someone who understands balance and nuance. The rest of the staff were consistently attentive as they moved through the dining room, quietly clearing plates and keeping the table in order without interrupting the flow of the evening.
Our server was adequate. It was a busy Thursday night, and while nothing went wrong, the level of engagement felt a bit muted. People have off nights, and I don’t judge harshly for that — but it does make a four-star rating feel more accurate than five.
The environment itself was refined, clean, and well-kept. Nothing ostentatious, but exactly what one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
Will we return? Unequivocally yes. That steak alone is worth coming back for — it was a genuine experience.

Had reservations, which I believe you must have. Food was amazing, but a tad expensive. Worth going to say you did.

It's a high-end steakhouse, and many of the selections really are excellent, but all of our steaks had quite a bit of gristle running through it (had to spit it out). They were cooked to the correct doneness, but what happened to quality meat selection?
Service was slow; we waited a long time before the waiter took the entree orders.
This being such an expen$$$ive restaurant (we spent $600 for our party of four on food and drinks, including dessert) can't they make the restroom a little more hospitable with a faucet flow that actually works instead of being one of these touchy auto-sensor jobs that only gives a meager flow that shuts off almost as soon as it starts?
12-6-25 Follow-up: We answered the General Manager's request for more details about our visit, telling him when our reservation was for and even taking the trouble to dig up the receipt that shows when we left, plus details about how long we waited between each step of our meal. It's been weeks and he did not e-mail us a response, nothing, NADA! He's diligent about making concerned-sounding replies to these bad reviews, but the truth comes out. How far this restaurant has fallen.

RingSide Steakhouse off East Burnside is our go to spot for birthdays and anniversaries. A little pricey, but worth every penny. Ambiance is spot on, service is fantastic, and the food is delicious. We love RingSide ❤️
