As a resident of San Diego, I have lots of good, local, coffee roasters. Many of them are quite good. Some of them are even served in local restaurants. I'm pretty comfortable saying I'm not a coffee snob or a connoisseur. I don't believe I should rate a business good or bad because a barista doesn't chat me up when I'm in their establishment. I choose to buy the coffee I use at home from Ristretto. I have it shipped to San Diego. My reasons have to do with the owner's approach to coffee roasting and brewing. But more importantly, I really like the flavors of their coffees. So, I'm not going to tell you how to drink your coffee. Just like I won't tell you how to drink your whiskey. Try Ristretto. I'm glad I did!

Clean sitting area, outside seating, simple menu. Didn't try their pastry options, but the coffee was tasty. Prices are comparable to other coffee shops in town, aka a bit pricey. Only been there once though, mid day. Limited street parking only.

Good design. Good coffee. if you are planning on working for an extended period there are no power outlets. Nice drip 2.50 with one free refill

Exceedingly poor service. We're from out of town, and decided to start hitting up the best craft coffee/pourover joints in town. Unfortunately, the woman behind the counter did not wish to serve us. She was unfriendly from the moment we walked in (we were the only people in the space), and I asked her if they serve pour overs. I was in fact looking at two gooseneck kettles and Chemex branded serving vessels as I said it, so the question was more of an introduction. She said....uh...we do but I can't find the thing for it. And kind of smirked and chuckled. So we left. This was around 10 minutes until closing, so it would have been perfectly permissible for her to say "we're too close to closing time." Fine. But instead she lied. Save yourself the time and walk the block to Trailhead--exceptional pourover and sterling service. I will never be taking my business to RR.

Love the coffee and relaxed atmosphere. I was in town for a holiday and spent a couple of mornings here. Thank you!

I was there last Monday for the first time and loved it. I got an iced americano that was great. I will definitely be back soon. Thank you!

Too many things wrong that made it not worth it for me. I walked in and the barista didn't even say anything or look at me until i said hello. She wasn't friendly at all and continued to be quiet when i asked her questions. Also the coffee is way overpriced and average quality/taste.

My Americano was okay, the barista was not friendly at all. I was the one to say "Hello" to her as I walked up to the counter to order and she did not respond. She just looked at me. I also said "thank you" when my coffee was ready and again no response she just looked mad. There was no line, so there's that I guess.

The people working there are so nice and the Americano was fantastic! To top it off, our office was running low on coffee filters and unfortunately they were also low and couldn't spare any. They offered to text me when they received their delivery. How many folks would do that? Great customer service! Thank you!

I haven't been there in person but ordered the winter blend online. I was very happy with it and highly recommend it. When I get to Portland I'll be sure to stop by.
