Dined out for Valentine's day - had been looking forward to it for a while. Our server and overall service were terrific, and the location and view are excellent. Food came out a tad slow but seemed acceptable for a crowded holiday service. We had an arugula sald and Italian Wedding Soup to start, which were terrific. My bolognese was on the dry and bland side and the portion was underwhelming. Our server very quickly corrected a small issue with my wife's dish, and they generously offered to comp a glass of wine for our trouble. My biggest gripe was a 20% service charge that I did not look at closley enough, and assumed was a straight up gratuity (which I'd be good with), but it goes into several buckets with a fraction going to the server. I tipped $10 on top of it, but with our bill over $100 I was concerned our server thought we were being pasive aggressive with a 10%-ish tip. Again, she was great and I didn't read the 20% surcharge language until I got home. For those curious, the surcharge note reads as follows: "A 20% service charge is added to all guest checks in lieu of raising menu prices. A portion of this charge is shared among our team to support fair wages for our staff. 100% of any additional gratuity goes directly to your server in recognition of exceptional service." A final gripe would be that we finished all our food but stil left hungry.

My husband and I go to iL Terrazzo every time we come to Portland (from Coos Bay), even had his 75th birthday party there. Manager Kyle and Assistant Manager Jessica, their chef and wait staff make each dining experience exceptional. The unique menu offers scrumptious food. You will never be sorry you ate here. Tell them Ida Jo and Rick sent you.

After making reservations to dine at your lovely restaurant, my partner and I weren't quite prepared for the level of elegance and fine dining experience you offer. My partner had been craving a proper carbonara, and I was excited to try whatever the evening brought. However, after walking past and realizing the atmosphere, we felt we were a bit “underdressed & underprepared” for the occasion. Unfortunately, we had already been running late and ultimately decided to go elsewhere that evening. I had called ahead and spoke with Jessica, who kindly assured me she would hold our reservation. I want to sincerely thank her for her professionalism and kindness, and also apologize for not showing up as planned. We truly hope you can forgive our absence and welcome us back in the future. We very much look forward to returning and enjoying the full experience your restaurant has to offer.

This is a gem of a place...my second visit and will absolutely go back. Thank you for great service, delicious food, and terrific ambience.

Il Terrazzo is within easy walking distance to the Keller Auditorium, and a 10-15 min walk is a nice way to wake yourself up before the show. Plus, you can park in the garage across from the Keller on the ground level, walk to and from the restaurant, and zip right out after the show! The menu is far-ranging, lots of authentic Italian favorites to choose from, and the service is perfect: right there when you want them, and not bothering you when you don't want them. We got the cherry chocolate cannoli for dessert, and our server even snagged a few Amarena cherries from the bar for us for garnish--yummm, and a lovely personal touch. Great place for date night, the view is beautiful and the room is quiet enough that you can have a conversation without shouting. One of my favorites for show night!

The food was okay, bruschetta was done well, and Caesar salad was typical, but had too many croutons. The main pasta dish was overcooked and chewy. The waiter was attentive. The setting along the Willamette is pleasant. Noise level was better after the next table of six left. Parking was easy on the nearby circle. I won't rush back but because of convenient location, would go back to meet someone.

Consistently fantastic food and service in an intimate small restaurant. Located on the peaceful Riverwalk with a great view of the marina, river and skyline.

Incredible food! Located right on the river so excellent view, great wine list. Really ingenious way of making gluten free people happy by having polenta as an option instead of pasta. Highly recommended!!

Friendly informative staff. Great view of the River. Just south of downtown so you get all the ambience of being in the city with greater ease for parking and access. Food was excellent.

The food remains excellent. They tack on a 20% 'gratuity' to ALL bills, not just large parties. I asked and the server said it mostly went to kitchen, reception and bus staff. I felt obligated to leave an additional 15%. This is outrageous. It is not a cheap place. Why can't they pay their people adequately so as not to have to dig into customers' pockets?

I had an amazing time! It was my birthday dining solo and the whole staff took such good care of me! Next time I'm back in Portland would definitely love to eat here again!

We had the most lovely late lunch on a Sunday here. We went in at 2pm and were one of three tables so due to that our food came out really quickly and it was very peaceful during our dining experience. Jessica was genuinely welcoming and had great advice on both the portions and the ingredients in the dishes. We loved everything and can't wait to treat ourselves again when the occasion arises 🫶

The pasta tasted homemade the sauces were rich without being heavy, and the portions were just right. Even the dessert was next level If you're looking for a spot that delivers real Italian quality and a great dining experience from start to finish, this is it. Highly recommend.
