BEST BURGER IN PORTLANDI’ve been coming to Roake’s with my dad since I was a kid and can be certain that this is THE BEST thing patty burger in the city. Their burgers have the perfect flavor and texture to them. Add in the scrumptious coney sauce and you’ve got magic in your mouth.The Roakeburger is my go to, but I leave off the swamp melons and onions. I’ve also been known to get a coney dog or a chili burger on occasion. Their fries are hit and miss IMO, but I come for the burgers anyway.Sketchballs flock to this place and I may visit their other location soon to see if it’s free of drug users, homeless, and gambling addicts. The lottery room Roake’s has doesn’t help.

The BEST coney island hot dogs bar none. Been going to Roakes since I grew up in PDX in the 80s. While I miss having more locations to choose from, and Columbia is not the best, the service and food quality here is EXCELLENT.Cash-only, so be prepared, and don't expect a super modern or nice dining area. That said, they've been cleaning things up based on my last visit, and it was much better than it had looked in many, many years. Only downside really is the video poker room brought in an odd element, but I get that it drives revenue.Must try item is the Coney Fries. Perfect fresh cut fries, homemade coney sauce, cheese and diced tomatoes. Hard to go wrong.

Honestly an oasis. The food around this area is either fast food, or not good. Stopped by here on my way to my storage unit. I was so surprised. Wonderful service. Great hotdog. Just all around fantastic. If I worked around here I'd come every day for lunch.
