I've only been able to visit a few times, but this is one of my favorite new places in Portland. It has just the right amount of Portland quirky weirdness and good vibes to be a very enjoyable place to hang with friends and celebrate books.

I had a 1 am flight out of Portland. I went there around 7 pm, listened some live music, had a local beer and nice light appetizer dinner. After the music I sat there, read a book and did some journaling. Nobody disturbed, servers were super nice and friendly. Then around 11 pm, I left. It was just the right place.

Finally tried the Book Pub: loved the library-ish atmosphere and had an excellent hummus plate. But it was cold inside (I wore my jacket the entire time I was there). And as I was leaving, trying to bus my table, the small area provided for customers to leave their dirty dishes was totally full. My other option, leaving it on the bar, would have meant sticking my dirty dishes in front of another customer. So instead I took them to a table in the kitchen — where the guy yelled at me for having stepped in there. So not the greatest introduction to the Book Pub. All it would take, too, is a bigger intake table for dirty dishes — and not yelling at a customer for trying to do the right thing. Other than that, nice place.

This is such a unique and wonderful place to visit. To be honest, I haven't even tried the food yet, but I love the vibe & atmosphere of the room. Books, Music, nice people... What's not to love? 😃👍

While true perfection may be a lofty achievement not worth pursuing, RCBP seems to somehow have done it. Each angle of space a golden beacon of light within this sea of possibility. An unspoken translation to a quiet language of the senses. The first question & the last answer to our eternal mystery.

Also has great food, many legible books, extremely horizontal floors, proof of the soul, endless wonder, and probably other cool stuff I did not see and/or hear. I am thankful to exist at the same time as RCBP.

Great vibes. Literally books and a pub. They have great live music and a ton of events (check their calendar). Elise is lovely.

Cozy little pub to read a book and sip on a gin and tonic. They also have live music on some nights. My only critique would be to have more seating and small tables. Love the large family style tables and also I wouldn’t work on my laptop on those. Usually can find a cozy spot on a weeknight

If I could rate the atmosphere of this place as a 20/5, I would. This is one of those hole in the wall places that I get excited to tell people I know about. Very cozy and welcoming. Try them out!

Came by for an internet meet up and the place was full of people, there's plenty of space for people who want to come and play some table games, they also have cute little reading nooks for a quiet reading space. Though we didn't get to try the food their spiced cider was delicious and definitely warmed me up. Staff was super friendly and helpful

Nice cozy atmosphere. Great place to catch up with a friend on a Sunday afternoon.

I ordered the grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup - the portion size was a bit small imo. But overall, I will be back again.

The book pub is a Portland gem. A wonderful community gathering spot, great atmosphere, great beverages. My only complaint is the food is very basic, and it would be nice if it were upgraded a bit. It would be great to be able to get an *excellent* sandwich there instead of just a sandwich.

Delightful low key pub with loads of books that might spark your curiosity. Too bad when we asked if they happened to have a book (speaking of old books… the Bible lol) laying around, we were only met with condescension: “oh yeah, it’s called the internet. If you look it up you can find it.“ I mean, no shit
